The lovely views from site!

  • Peaceful farm site with spectacular sea and countryside views
  • A mile and a half from Boscastle
  • A short distance from the South West Coast Path
Spectacular sunsets, smashing views, spying seals and all a mere mile and a half from Boscastle… things sound tremendous at north Cornwall's Trebyla Farm. It's on the north Cornish coast (also tremendous) and within easy walking distance of the wildlife watching and hikes of the splendid South West Coast Path. Plenty of other walks surround this peaceful place, including a mile-long meander to the several pubs, restaurants and shops of Boscastle, as well as a scenic hike along to the beach at Crackington Haven. If you want to travel by wheels, a bus stop is just outside the farm entrance. The site covers two acres on a working farm, and it's worth pointing out yet again those smashing views. On a more practical level, guests have access to a spacious wetroom on site and there's a washing-up area and facilities for ice pack freezing. For supplies, stroll 10 or 15 minutes from Trebyla to a farm shop selling fresh local produce as well as dishing up sizeable cooked breakfasts: there are over 4,000 products here, so even fussy types should see themselves sorted. Source some fuel on your travels too, to spark up a barbecue or campfire once you stagger back to base with your haul.

Liked Really lovely site, was clean, well kept, loads of space. Lovely views and good facilities which were clean, modern and well looked after. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Extra note: you can walk from the mentioned farm shop straight onto the coast path as an alternative to the full coast path walk.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked We found the best hot showers in comfortable cabines at the Trebyla Farm Camping. Coupled with beautiful sunsets and lots of space we enjoyed our stay enourmously. We had a wonderful walk through the valley and the woods to Boscastle and were please to take the bus back, that stops directly at the campsite.
The SWC Path is marvelous, but quiet longer than 2 hours from Tintagel to Boscastle.

Disliked Nothing, everything was perfect.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Quiet, fresh air, beautiful surroundings and clean toilets. Friendly welcome. Great getting a solo traveller discount, much appreciated. Really handy being on a bus route. I felt really safe but I can't say why - really important for solo female travellers. Very good value. Also nice and flat for campervans.

Disliked No paper towels in toilet. On website it says leave by 10am but on the site board it says 11am. That hour made a big difference to me. Also, if I am in a camper van does it really matter what time I leave as long as it is before newcomers at 2pm?

From the manager: Hi Kellen
Thank you for your kind review. Just to answer your questions:
We have supplied paper towels previously and it was abused sadly. There are hand dryers in the toilets.
On your Pitchup booking confirmation, and on the website it says departure 11am. Not sure why you think it said 10am.
In answer to your last question - yes it does really matter that you leave at 11. There is grass to cut and strimming to do and other maintenance tasks before the next arrivals.
Thank you and hope to see you again
Julia

Electric grass pitch

Liked The view and location were great! It was a great base to explore from, with a lovely farm shop just down the road. The farmer was really friendly and you could choose your own pitch. Pitches were very spacious and it felt quite private.

Disliked The toilets at the bottom could have been cleaner, they didn’t seem to be cleaned daily. (The main toilets and showers were cleaner)

Electric grass pitch

Liked Easy to find, great views from the hardstanding electric pitches looking over the south west coast path. The pitch we had was level so didn't need to use chocks. We didn't use any of the facilities so can't comment on those Friendly owners all at a reasonable price. We only stayed the one night but will most probably book again and stay longer.

Disliked Can't think of anything.

Local attractions

One of the most famed things about Boscastle is its Museum of Witchcraft and Magic, open in Boscastle since 1960 and a popular stopoff point for tourists as well as those interested in witchcraft and the occult. The village should keep you going for a bit after a dip into the witchcraft museum, even if you just sit and stare at its scenic harbour from one of its two stone walls… If you fancy delving into a bit more history, the National Trust has a visitor centre in Boscastle's Old Smithy (and if not, there are a few interesting little shops around). The South West Coast Path is accessed from here – the walk to Arthurian Tintagel is much recommended – and those who want to stay active can source horse riding, fishing and golfing in the area too. This is of course surfing country as well, or you could stick to exploring the rockpools among the many sandy beaches around this part of coast.
