Good value, great views, peaceful and relaxing.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked The freedom to pitch anywhere, the stunning views, the wildlife around us and it felt very relaxed. Great to be able to buy logs. We didn’t visit the cafe but can see it would be a good addition. Maybe next time! Good phone signal too!
Disliked Shower block is very basic, more handwashing stations would be good as the toilets are very spaced out. Nothing major though!

Great field with toilets and sinks and simple shower close by.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Yeh really enjoyed my stay and the provision of wood for a fire which I haven't done for ages. Lovely having showers and the cafe very close by for breakfast too as my cooking skills with a fire need some work.
Disliked Only thing was not allowed to leave car by tent but at least it made me walk more on check out a si just carried my things to car.

Friendly campsite with wholesome vibes for families and backpackers
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Campsite is in a beautiful valley with a calm atmosphere and lots of wildlife, it was lovely to wake up to the sound of the birds. Location is great for hikers as you can walk straight from the campsite up the downs. Good choice for families too as the kids can safely explore the whole valley. Nice community vibe when we were there, with children from different families all playing with each other and adults being friendly with other campers.
The site is dog-free in order to protect the birds and other wildlife in the area but the owner kindly allowed us to bring our elderly ferret on the condition that she'd be under control at all times and pose no risk to other animals. The ferret enjoyed herself as much as we did and didn't have to worry about dangerous dogs or cars.
Disliked I really enjoyed my stay but it wouldn't be a good choice for some people depending on your needs. If you want to keep your car next to your tent, you can't do that here. The port-a-loos were all clean and stocked with loo roll but if you want an indoor toilet you'll be disappointed.
If you want to party, this is not the campsite for you. Most fires were out by 9pm and it's very quiet so people will probably complain if you want to stay up late or listen to music. Sound echoes within the valley so you have to be mindful of babies and backpackers sleeping early.

Great site for back to basics camping
Non-electric grass tent pitch (backpacker, no cars)
Liked Great back to basics experience, my 12 and 15 year old wanted to cook over an open fire and this was a perfect site to do it on. Facilities were fine for what we needed.
Disliked Would have preferred to park the car next to the tents for storage but not a big deal and actually made the site more scenic and safe.
