Liked: This place is beyond awesome! The tents have everything you need to have a comfortable stay, amenities are handy and well maintained and the swimming pond is a major win. Would definitely recommend to all - we went there with our 3 year old who loved it but there was a real mix of families/couples/ages there. Close enough to a major train station for us to bike to the site but enough out in the country side to feel like you are getting back to nature.
Disliked: Nothing - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Liked: Good size area for kids to play safely including football; wild swimming and kayaks; excellent facilities such as communal fridge freezers and charging points; a covered communal area with tables chairs and sofas for eating and gathering, particularly when raining; good (warm) shower facilities; size of site and positioning of bell tents not cluttered and well spaced; lovely views and relaxing; last but not least really lovely friendly staff!

Liked: Clean facilities, plenty of little helpful extras like hand wash, kettle and outdoor games. Canoeing on the lake was great fun.
Disliked: Freezer didn't work. One selling point was the ability to charge phones in the communal tent but there was actually only one free plug for everyone staying on the site to share

From the manager: Thank you for your review.
There's actually around 6 or 7 spare plugs in the stretch tent (there's a 5-way extension reel on the ground next to the fridges that has nothing else plugged into it) - we are at the site or very near all the time so please don't be afraid to ask someone if you have any issues like this and we can help!
Beautiful site - well run, with very kind and friendly staff.…

Bell tent
Liked: Wonderful wonderful bell tent site. What a game changer to have a refrigerator and Kettle, as well as power to charge those teens' lifelines. Lots of varied options of communal seating which positively encourages friendly interaction among campers. The bell tents have futon mattresses which for me was a plus, as I prefer the truer camping experience but cannot manage the load that becomes of bringing tents and bedding as I don't drive. The swimming pond was lovely, despite my personal uncertainties with ping swimming, plus the use of two kayaks was exceptional. Many games around; badminton net, table tennis, chess, giant jenga and we were even treated to two space hoppers on the second day. The toilets were clean, regularly serviced, and well lit, and the showers were hot and powerful, with a helpful changing portion to them.
This was by and far the best campsite I've stayed in, certainly in terms of facilities, way beyond expectations.
Disliked: The only improvement that could be made is the directions. We had a little trouble finding the entrance in the taxi, as Google maps was suggesting an entrance across a hedge and fields. Luckily we had a lovely cabbie who turned the fare off while we tried different approaches until we found it. Directing a cab driver to collect us was also tricky, as he drive into a different entrance, as directed by the post code on maps. I don't know how this could be remedied, but it would help others I'm sure.

From the manager: Thank you for your kind review, I'm glad you had a lovely time. Getting google maps to set the entrance to the site has been extremely difficult as the entrance track is not mapped yet (it was only put in 2 years ago); I have made multiple attempts to use their flagging feature to highlight where the entrance is, but thus far haven't had any luck (this seems to be the only way to change the entrance via google maps!). The site straddles 2 postcodes which both contain multiple driveways and cover an incredibly wide area given our rural location.
