  • Peaceful country site 10 minutes' drive from Goodwood Motor Circuit
  • Around 10 minutes' drive from beaches at Pagham and Bognor Regis
  • Firepit area on site and five minutes' drive from a farm shop
Coast or country? Dither ye not, fair reader, for a stay at Lagnersh Camping is one that has you handily placed for both. The site is just 10 minutes' drive away from Goodwood Motor Circuit, making it a mightily handy spot to attend the events it puts on throughout the year such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival. This peaceful site has five acres of gorgeous West Sussex countryside to its name, giving guests plenty of space from which to watch buzzards flying overhead or look out for the deer that sometimes drop in to graze. Fancy seeing a bit more? Clamber over the stile to stride forth on local footpaths, or drive for 15 minutes up to the South Downs National Park. ‘Like living in the middle of nowhere but only 10 minutes from civilisation’ is how the folks here describe their place. To back that up, a few minutes' drive away is a well-stocked farm shop for all the bits you need for a barbecue or a top-notch night at the site’s firepit area. Time to swap the rural views for some sea air? It’ll take you about 10 minutes to drive to Pagham or Bognor Regis, or around 20 for Climping and the Witterings.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Easy to find the campsite.
Friendly, smooth and straight forward check in.
Flat spacious pitches.
Very clean toilets, showers and wash up areas.
Lovely dark skies for star gazing.
Super lovely staff, who couldn't do enough to ensure a great stay.

Disliked It's simply a matter of personal preference...I dislike unisex showers and toilets.

There are only 3 toilet cubicles, with the gent's urinals behind a curtain at the end of a small cabin. Not enough facilities for the size of the site if there's a good occupancy. The space between the cubicle doors and the sinks is narrow. if you are large of stature, you can't get past anyone stood at the sinks.

As a female staying in a tent, the use of the facilities is vital. Getting ready in the mornings, (teeth, hair, make up etc) was a challenge. I'm a private person and the small, narrow toilet cabin with all 3 cubicles taken by males enjoying their lengthy morning ablutions was an experience!. The sounds, grunts and odours were quite a shock to the senses!

The human body has it's functions and there's no shame in that...I just don't want to participate in other people's private moments.

Also, I personally felt like I couldn't use the showers, this is no fault of the site. Again, just personal preference. I wasn't comfortable in unisex facilities.

Having said all that, the facilities were very clean and campers all respected the communal areas.

We will definitely return, but will bring our own toilet, shower and pop up tent for them.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Good size pitches, secure campsite with locked gate to gain access set in the countryside yet only a few miles from Bognor/ Chichester. We booked as wanted somewhere close to Goodwood for the Festival of Speed. Will definetly use again.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Stayed one night to attend the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and the location was super convenient as it was only 20 minutes away from the circuit.
All the staff were super friendly and the location was really nice.
The whole vibe of the place was really chilled which was really nice for us.

Disliked The facilities were a bit smelly and a bit dirty. Could've been cleaned a bit more frequently.
A tap for drinking water would be nice, saves us from going to the supermarket to get bottles of water.

From the manager: Toilets cleaned every hour and on arrival you were told that drinking water was on side if brown shed

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Run by lovely people. I liked that there was a good security presence and that the gate was locked and coded. Good distance to Goodwood festival of speed.

Disliked The boulevard of caravans on the edge of the camp site made me feel un-welcome to the point I didn’t feel safe leaving anything of value in my tent, they were very aggressive especially the people in the Bottom caravans, there was a man on a moped walking his dog who was very loud towards midnight. Lots of clapped out caravans… clean up your act! (This would be a lovely camp site if this didn’t include the broken abandoned caravans and miscellaneous junk surrounding the site)

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked We liked the location in rural country but close to beach settings of Pagham and cultural and shopping centre of Chichester.
A Coop shop was a 10 minute drive away which was not too bad. The site was welcoming, easy to book and easy to find. The pitches were flat and there was plenty of space away from other tents on days we stayed. The ground was grass and not rock hard useful for putting in pegs.
The washing cooking cleaning facilities were sufficient for the number of campers when we were there. Showers worked very well and kichen was well equipped. Site was very clean. Play facilities for children were a really good idea. Owners were friendly and helpful and were quick to instigate improved security after an incident with travellers and the new entrance codes were communicated personally to everyone on site. Caravans and campers outnumbered campers 10 to 1 but were away from tents area which was welcome. Well satisfied overall and will return.

Disliked Quite long walk to toilet / wash block for tent campers and nothing for sale on site was a bit inconvenient. It was quite noisy as some large camping vans were inconsiderate and noone was telling then to keep quiet. 30 pounds a night we thought was a bit expensive for a two man tent.
