What customers say

This lakeside site offers beautiful views and a wide range of activities. Pitches are generally well-maintained with picnic tables and fire pits. Staff are frequently praised for being friendly and helpful. Facilities are consistently described as clean and well-kept. However, many visitors found the lake activities and beach access to be very expensive, with some feeling the site is geared towards profit rather than camper convenience. Limited shower facilities were also noted.

Hedge Row fully-serviced gravel motorhome pitch

Liked Great pitches, generous space with picnic bench, fire-pit and individual electric and water supply. Very clean facilities. Staff all really friendly. The £20 BYO pass for paddle boards/kayaks is a bargain. The lake is beautiful, really safe for families, patrolled by safety staff and has amazing water quality. The site is really safe and secure. New Tesco within a few minutes walking distance was an unexpected bonus.

Fully-serviced gravel motorhome pitch

Liked Good sized pitch with services on pitch (water and hookup) at no extra price. Loved that each pitch had a picnic bench and fire pit too. Nice view, clean toilets with a well lit walk way down (steps).

The Bring your own paddleboard pass at £20 (covering both of us) made this excellent value for money.

Super helpful and friendly staff.

Disliked Woke up to cars driving on site at 6.30am. We did have the closest pitch to the gravel road in, on a busy Aug Saturday morning.

Would be nice to not overlook the buildings in front of the lake. Maybe in the future there could be a place for campers further round the lake.

Fully-serviced gravel motorhome pitch

Liked It was amazing, perfect for a weekend getaway, we stayed in our roof tent plenty of space with electric hook up, the lake was so clean and well managed it was a pleasure to paddle board here, we will definitely be back.

Disliked Personally I don’t feel like it’s a lake view, the way the wellness centre is right in front of you, if some more updated photos had been taken of the actual view I would not have worried about the lake view booking.

And not a lot of options for food so make sure you bring food with you.

St Andrews Lakes – Absolutely Amazing!
Had the most fantastic time at St Andrews Lakes! The place is beautiful, the water activities are so much fun, from kayaking, BYO SUP, pédalos and the aqua parks and the facilities are top-notch – clean, well-maintained, and really thoughtfully set up. Staff were friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. Can’t wait to go back!

Disliked Having to come home !!!

Fully-serviced gravel motorhome pitch

Liked Absolutely beautiful, we only live 15 mins away but have booked to stay another 3 times. Feels like your abroad, we took advantage of the £20 bring your own per pitch and paddle boarded as much as we could. The staff are all so friendly, food was lovely in the cafe and pizza place. Toilets always clean and smelling nice. Lots of security and life guards so always felt safe. Highly recommend

Local attractions

If you can drag everybody away from the lake, there’s lots of heritage stuff to see in this corner of Kent. Historic Rochester (20 minutes’ drive) has a stately Norman castle and a Gothic-era cathedral to explore, while neighbouring Chatham (half an hour) showcases centuries of naval history at The Historic Dockyard Chatham, where you can tour the World War II destroyer HMS Cavalier and the Cold War-era submarine HMS Ocelot. The spectacular moated Leeds Castle (25 minutes) has enough craft workshops, museums, events and sculpture trails to keep the family busy all day. However, should the siren call of culture start to wane with the kids, take them to Diggerland Kent (10 minutes) for some time moving earthworks and shifting soil around on JCBs. No need to panic if it rains either, as you can divert to the bowling lanes at Hollywood Bowl Rochester (10 minutes). If you’d care to wander further afield, London sights like Greenwich Palace, The Prime Meridian and the National Maritime Museum can be reached in less than an hour’s drive.
