What customers say

This is a very clean, well-maintained, and peaceful campsite with excellent, friendly staff. Pitches are spacious and well-laid out, with many enjoying woodland walks directly from the site. Facilities, including toilets and showers, are consistently praised for their cleanliness and quality. Some guests noted intermittent Wi-Fi and limited on-site amenities for children, but overall experiences were highly positive, with many intending to return.

Electric grass pitch

Liked It was my first independent camp for a long time after my near fatal brain haemorrhage, the people in reception were so helpful, they changed my plot so that I was nearer the facilities, which were great, they also showed me to my pitch and let me keep my motability vehicle close. Really helpful and cheerful attitudes, lovely fellow campers, clearly good for families and safe.

Disliked the children did seem to be active and chattery until late, but a perfect family spot

From the manager: Thank you for your review Rebecca, your kind words are very much appreciated! It was lovely meeting you and we'll hopefully see you again in the future - it's much quieter outside of school holidays but glad the noise didn't affect your stay too much. The Oak View team, Ruth, Lynsey & Rob :)

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Had a lovely stay, the site is very clean and peaceful. It's quiet and the other campers were considerate and friendly. No loud music, just a nice place to stay. Staff were really nice and helpful. The showers are good, there's plenty of toilets and there's a nice big room for washing up and they also provide a washing machine and dryer. For dog owners, there's a place to clean them after a muddy walk. I would've liked somewhere to buy a tea or coffee but I think it's more catered towards caravan owners, who have probably already packed a kettle!

Electric grass pitch

Liked Stayed at the site for a couple of days with my partner and dog - it did not disappoint!
The campsite was surrounded by gorgeous woodland, which was great for walks with the pup. Everyone who camped there was absolutely wonderful, that also includes the staff - they were brilliant! Facilities were really well organised and clean - including a washing machine and dryer which is super handy. We had such a fantastic stay and would come again, but next time with all our friends. Super friendly, super doggy friendly and overall just great!

Local attractions

Oak View Holiday Park is in prime position to traverse the best of Kent's countryside, coast, castles and well-known gardens – with Essex and its coast easily accessible too just to the north. Plenty of pedalling and perambulating opportunities are around the North Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, such as the 153-mile route of the North Downs National Trail through from Farnham to Canterbury, passing the White Cliffs of Dover. This takes in the 119-mile Pilgrims' Way, the supposed route of Thomas Becket from Winchester to Canterbury Cathedral. Elsewhere in Kent, loads is on all year round in the 500 acres of parkland and formal gardens at lovely Leeds Castle (10 minutes’ drive), like free falconry displays, play areas, special events and making one's way intrepidly out of the castle maze. Also see Rochester Castle (20 minutes) on the east bank of the Medway for its 12th-century keep and stacks of historical info: the castle was sacked during the Peasants' Revolt, held for Henry III against the barons, and besieged (also because of barons) by bad King John. And of course, just next door is the Kent Showground, which hosts all sorts of events throughout the year (the most famed being the Kent County Show, which usually runs for three days in July).
