  • Peaceful adults-only rural Kent site 10 minutes' drive from Tenterden
  • A 25-minute drive to Rye; several vineyards close by for tours
  • Pétanque court and firepit grates on site; local pub 10 minutes' walk
When you stay at Field End Campsite, you’ll be sharing the space with the chickens and ducks that live here, and just a handful of other guests… but no kids, as this Kent site is an adults-only setup that’s all about letting the grownups have a bit of chillout time. This rural location (about 15 minutes’ drive from Ashford) is a particularly fine spot for a break if you’re into your fishing – there’s a fishery just next door, with a couple more within a 15-minute walk/five-minute drive. Meanwhile, cyclists can pedal along quiet country lanes and there are plenty of places to get out for a walk nearby too (and you’ll be welcome to bring your dog along if they fancy a Kent countryside walk too…) Only planning to walk as far as the pub? That shouldn’t take long, as the nearest one is only about 10 minutes away on foot. There are four more pubs within a five-minute drive if you’d like to mix things up a bit, or you could pick up supplies at the farm shop just outside the local village of Bethersden (five minutes’ drive) and get your barbecue going back at base. There’s also a butcher and grocery shop in the village, with bigger supermarkets over in Tenterden (10 minutes) if you need them. Tenterden also has some lovely cafés and a good range of shops on its high street. Facilities on site include a washing-up area, toilets, showers and a solar-powered shower for those who are brave enough. There's also a pétanque court on site. Each pitch has its own grate, where you're welcome to set up a campfire; logs, kindling and firelighters can be purchased from the site for an additional fee. If you need to freeze ice packs or blocks, ask the team for access to the freezer.

Liked We stayed here on Saturday and absolutely loved it! The scenery is stunning and the setting is so peaceful. We were greeted by friendly chickens and ducks wandering around, which was such a lovely touch — the owners even kindly gave us a couple of fresh eggs for our dinner, which was a real treat. The facilities are spotless and well maintained, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owners couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. A wonderful spot to relax, recharge, and enjoy the countryside — we’ll definitely be coming back!

Liked Everything!! What an absolute gem this campsite is. It’s small, friendly and very well maintained. Each pitch looks over the pretty field which comes alive with twinkly lights at night. The firepits on your pitch are wonderful and the showers are reminiscent of those in the African bush - a delight!!
Thank you to the chickens for our breakfast eggs and huge thanks to Karen and Richard for being such wonderful hosts. See you again soon!!

Liked We found the site very nice indeed...friendly owners, clean facilities and a tidy neat site. We liked the "extras" petang area, bbq, covered lounge gazebo etc and attractive fairy lights at nightfall

Disliked Nothing at all was disliked, infact excellant.
However a standalone toilet would be good as when you have shower and toilet combos you have to wait for showers to finish to use the toilet. And some people take a very long time in the shower !!! This is not a criticism of the site at all and we have come across this in several sites that we have visited
Just an observation

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for all your lovely positive comments. A standalone toilet is certainly something we are considering for next season,

Toby electric grass pitch

Liked Everything!! It is tucked away and a beautiful quiet spot. Being adults only was brilliant as it was summer holidays. The pitches were big, with electric and water on our pitch. Showers and toilets were always clean, lovely hot shower and hot water for washing pots. The hosts were really welcoming and super friendly! And the icing on the cake were the great games at the site! Petang, badminton, Jenga, connect 4, we played almost all of them and there was a lovely communal seating area too. Such a fantastic site and couldn't recommend it more! We will definitely be back, even if it is 4 hours away!!

Disliked Absolutely nothing! It was brilliant!

Toby electric grass pitch

Liked Really great site - adults only and small so very peaceful but also very dog friendly. Facilities were spotless but the little touches like the fairy lights, games and sitting area were what made it a cut above the norm. Log burners on each pitch were a plus. Hosts were very friendly and relaxed.

Disliked Disliked some of the negative remarks left by other reviewers - if you can’t be happy here then probably best you don’t go camping!

From the manager: Hello Jerry,
Wow, what a fabulous review, Thank you.
We so enjoy having like-minded people to share our little site that we love so much. I think the 'sign' idea for the toilets is great. We'll have to try a few ideas out before we decide on one that works.
