Electric grass pitch

Liked: The location was amazing, the 2 minute stroll to the beach front was perfect, stunning views, rabbits everywhere- just lovely. The facilities were great, lovely clean toilets and showers with heated flooring, spacious wash up area and even a doggie shower. Couldn’t fault it!

Disliked: The only gripes we had was there was dog mess on our pitch from the previous guests. The second night a caravan over the other side which backed into the campers pitch partied until 1:30am blasting music! All for having fun but 1:30am a bit much.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: We really liked the pool facilities and the activities we could book for the children. The pitch was good and close to what we needed. The proximity to the beach was fantastic.

Disliked: Only four stars because the showers were not very hot and in cooler weather this mattered.

Fully-serviced grass touring pitch (super)

Liked: The location is fantastic and the facilities onsite are second to nine.

Loved the large pitch sizes and room available without being crammed in with neighbours.

The staff here are very friendly and helpful.

Disliked: It's a bit muddy when wet and the site could benefit from hard standing areas where vehicles are parked.

Fully-serviced grass touring pitch (super)

Liked: Excellent location, nice fully serviced pitch at a most reasonable price. Some staff extremely helpful.

Disliked: 1. Vague signage as you approach the touring area, you must report to reception but you cannot proceed in that direction as signage demands a right turn. It would be better if the sign advised to make the right turn, then park on the left hand side and take a short walk to reception. I have limited mobility, I cannot risk committing myself to a walk of unknown length especially if it turns out to be uphill.

2. Due to my mobility issues, I requested when booking that I could be close to the toilet and shower block, this request was totally ignored, pitch 9 was allocated which is pretty much mid way between the two available amenity blocks.

3. On arrival at pitch 9 I was disappionted at how muddy it was, being at the lowest part of a shallow valley. After asking if everything was OK a most helpful member of staff returned to reception to organise a move for me, I ended up on pitch 13 which was more suitable and much closer to the showers. I stayed for 3 nights, there were plenty of spare pitches, why wasn't I put there in the first place.

4. Although it did not affect me, a point of note is that many of the fully serviced pitches require your waste water to run uphill!!

5. Reading reviews from earlier in the tear some comments suggested the shower water temperature was too high, it must have been adjusted as it is now not much hotter than luke warm.

I intend for my criticism to be constructive, we are approaching the end of the season, I am not surprised at some of the 'lack of attention to detail', it is a shame, a few small changes could turn a good break into a great one.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: The whole area was well kept.
All the staff were really helpful .
The weather was pretty rough when we arrived and we upgraded our stay to a chalet which was better than we could have imagined.
Thank-you to the receptionist and to to the other ladies in reception who chatted with us when we went in to the reception in the evening to find out where the eatery was .

Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Local attractions

With the lovely St Helens within strolling distance, visitors would be forgiven for staying close to home; however, other Blue Flag beaches such as Sandown are but a short drive away (and dinosaur fans will enjoy the animatronics in the pterodactyl-shaped Dinosaur Isle museum here too). The carnival town of Ryde with its pier and marina is only three miles from Nodes Point, and the neighbouring village of Bembridge has a pretty harbour and some great pubs and restaurants, as well as the only windmill remaining on the island. Fakenham Farm offers the usual farmyard friends, plus a smattering of more exotic species. Visitors will also be chuffed with the views offered by the magnificent machines of the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, which stages many special events in season and also hosts a falconry display.
