Set in the Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape in over 100 acres of mature woodland and countryside, Silverdale Holiday Park has spectacular views over Morecambe Bay and Arnside Knott in Lancashire. However, there’s so much going on around the park that it’s doubtful you’ll ever leave its environs. Silverdale has plenty of children’s activities for wet and dry days. Hit the water in the indoor swimming complex and separate toddler pool, and don’t miss the weekly splash sessions to let off steam. Over-16s can kick back in the sauna and steam room, there’s a Jacuzzi and aqua-fit classes and dedicated swimming sessions for adults. The gym is fitted with cardio and resistance equipment for workouts, and TV screens to distract you from your exercise regime. Elsewhere in the leisure centre there’s a 10-pin bowling alley for family fun, and an indoor soft play area so younger guests can burn off energy. If that doesn’t work, let them loose in the two outdoor playgrounds or book a round on the eight-hole pitch-and-putt green (open in summer only). The bar, café and restaurant are open every day for a variety of homemade food – and although dogs are not allowed inside, you’re welcome to sit on the terrace with your four-legged chums. There’s also a designated dog-walking field on the park and several routes through woodland and along the stunning coastline where you can all stretch your legs.

This is a highly recommended, clean, and well-maintained site with spacious pitches and excellent facilities, including a great swimming pool. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful. Guests appreciated the range of activities for children, the on-site shop, and the proximity to the beach. Wi-Fi and phone signal were reported as intermittent in some areas, and access roads could be challenging for larger vehicles. Overall, a superb experience with many vowing to return.

Liked love the site went on our own as a couple then returned with family

Disliked i think when people arrive they should be told the soft play has to be adult supervised . some parents just let them come & go whilst they are elsewhere i took my 3 grankids in twice & both times a child hit my 1 yr old grandchild no parents checking them also would be nice if more covered area with heaters for seating outside as lots of people with dogs were sitting outside & as a group with 3 children under 5 & a dog often had to sit in the rain

Luxury camping pod (deluxe, no pets)

Liked What a lovely site. I took my 10 and 8 year away while husband had to work and I felt safe and secure in my camping pod. The people were all lovely. The boys loved that no restrictions on the amount of time in the swimming pool

Liked Toilets and showers were clean.
Friendly staff
The food tasted nice.

Disliked This is only how we feel when we stayed.
Prices of the food was very expensive.
Site map showed walks, but when we whent on the walks, there was no signs helping to follow the route.
For the price we paid for 2 nights ,- we expected more.

Travelling to and from the site on narrow roads was not enjoyable.

Liked Well kept campsite, level, spacious fully serviced pitches. Really like the pitches with hedges in-between, makes it very private. Lovely walks all around
Good amenities onsite bar and restaurant, swimming pool, arcade's. Although we didn't use other than having a pint in the bar.
The toilet and showers are clean and tidy.

Disliked My only little gripe was the showers, the head of the shower is really close to the wall which means you are touching the cold tiles when getting under the water. The temperature of the showers varies also, would often go freezing cold water or really hot

Disliked Such a shame dogs aren't allowed inside the bar/restaurant area. With a family of 2 adults and 1 child and 1 dog we needed to split our time inside. Still a gorgeous place

If you’re keen to stay local, the nearest Morecambe Bay beach is Silverdale Cove (15 minutes’ stroll, be sure to check tide times), while the rural village of Silverdale has a scattering of shops and eateries, including a pub and an Indian takeaway. Further afield, you have the choice of two national parks and a national landscape to explore. Introduce the kids to tales of Peter Rabbit with a visit to The World of Beatrix Potter at Windermere (35 minutes), or watch cute otters playing in water at The Lakes Aquarium (also 35 minutes), both in the Lake District National Park. Turn east for the Yorkshire Dales National Park and a trek up to dramatic Cautley Spout waterfall (50 minutes) or a browse around the shops in the pretty market town of Sedbergh (45 minutes).
