  • Luxury ensuite glamping pods on a Lancashire family farm
  • Next to the Lancaster Canal; half an hour's drive to Blackpool
  • Dogs welcome; secure garden area with barbecue for each pod
Glamping in an orchard – sounds lovely, right? And that’s just what you’ll get at the aptly named Orchard Glamping, part of a family farm in the Lancashire countryside between Garstang and Catterall. And actually that woodland backdrop is only part of the appeal, as this excellent location is right next to the Lancaster Canal, with the River Calder close by and the edge of the Forest of Bowland National Landscape a few minutes’ drive away. All of this adds up to both a peaceful, pretty place to relax, and a fantastic setting for some outdoor exploring. There’s plenty to fill your time with around here, from activities like walks, bike rides, golf and fishing to family attractions such as the Bowland Wild Boar Park and the ever-popular Blackpool beach. Lancashire also hosts numerous festivals throughout the year – with food, music and walking among the themes – so it’s worth looking up what’s on during your break. Bit tired from all those outings? Good news – you’ll be staying in a comfortable pod where it’s nice and easy to relax. Site owners Rebecca and Tom have designed these pods with luxury in mind, adding an ensuite bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and underfloor heating to each one. Towels and bedding are provided, and there’s a sofa and TV for those times when you just want to flop. Outside, each pod has a private garden area with seating, firepit and a built-in barbecue; it’s all securely fenced so you can let kids and dogs wander freely. If it’s not barbecue weather, you could always head to one of the pubs in the neighbouring villages…
