  • Peaceful and spacious wildlife haven in the smart Ashton Hall Estate
  • Lancaster city and the Forest of Bowland both within six miles
  • An 11-hole seaview golf course, woodland walks and fishing in the Lune
Rock up here for a restful retreat among the comely grounds of Ashton Hall Caravan Park… Within Ashton Hall’s extensive estate are an 11-hole golf course with spectacular seaward vista, as well as a garden centre and café, all bordered by ancient woodlands and the River Lune, and direct access to the Lancashire Coastal Way and the Lune Estuary Footpath. Your holiday days will surely fill up quickly with all there is to do around the locale too – if you manage to tear yourself away from the site, that is – as the Forest of Bowland, the Lune Estuary and Lancaster city are all within six miles. On site, there's loads of room to wander around the grounds or in the adjoining forest for woodland walking routes, nature trails and cycle paths, many of which will take you from the site directly to the banks of the River Lune. On top of all this, the site takes pride in its sparklingly clean unisex toilet and shower facilities in a modern stone-built bathroom block with underfloor heating. The building includes an accessible bathroom/ family facility, a vanity area with washbasins, big mirrors and a hairdryer, a laundry room with washing machines and tumble dryers, and a covered washing-up area – like the site itself, the amenities block is safely secure and accessed via a secure key code. A local pub and restaurant lies within a mile of the estate, and Lancaster is three miles away.

Lune fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Lovely site which is nice and quiet. The pitches are quite big and nicely spaced out and great if you own a basecamp! The toilets were clean and modern.
I was un decided if the pitch was a bit pricey but given they include an awning it seems a fair price.

The site is ideal for anyone who likes walking and cycling. The site backs onto a trail which heads all way way to Morecome and Lancaster. Not much for kids to do, so seems a great spot for adults. Also not too far a walk from a decent pub.

We had no interaction with the owners other than a text. However did respond to questions.

Disliked: The lane is riddled with pot holes and half of it is gravel as you arrive onto site. I have low profiles so had to crawl at snail pace down the lane to the site.
Make sure you do not follow sat nav, it will try to take you down unsuitable narrow lanes to site. Follow the A6 to Lancaster and come back on yourself to stay on A roads.

Lune fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: The tranquility was wonderful - what a beautiful setting! We even saw a deer one night!
What an absolute bonus to find the canal path that we used to get to Lancaster on and the lovely local pub called The Stork.
The wash block was very clean and modern facilities.

Disliked: It would be nice to add in some fairy lights and windchimes to add to the ambience of the site.

Lune fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Warm, clean, shower block with proper facilities, and underfloor heating. Easy to check in. Good local pub. Used for a one night stopover to the Lakes and was perfect. It was cold, rainy and windy but we were sheltered in the park, which is set in lovely surroundings. Close to M6. Would stay again.

Lune fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Lovely peaceful site within short walk to the garden centre which has a lovely cafe.
There is a cycle track which takes you all the way to Lancaster and Morecambe and beyond. Perfectly safe and away from traffic. The toilet and showers are lovely and clean.
There is also a lovely pub ten minutes walk from the site which serves meals.
The best bit is the ice cream van which comes round in the evening 😀

Lune fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Quiet rural setting with access to the Lune footpath and cycleway providing a traffic free route to both Glasson Dock and Lancaster. The toilet/shower block was excellent.

Disliked: It was a little expensive and there is nowhere close to get basic provisions.
