What customers say
This is a basic, no-frills campsite with a relaxed atmosphere and stunning views. Guests praised the clean, functional toilets and the spacious, flat pitches, many enjoying the option to hire fire pits. The location is convenient for exploring the Lake District, with plenty of nearby walks. While many found the site peaceful, some reviews mention issues with noise from other campers, particularly during busy periods. Facilities are generally adequate, though the single cold shower was a common point of note.

Would definitely stay here again.
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Lovely site. Great views and not a bad location close to Ullswater. loads of spaces to pitch up, even on a busy August weekend. Toilets and cold showers, simple but everything we needed.
You can get firepits delivered with logs for £15. The owners were all really nice and visited the site several times to check all ok.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Quiet nice site where you was left to enjoy! Toilets clean & we was under the impression that there wouldn’t be a shower, there was. Although it was cold it was a bonus! We didn’t care about going on our phones but just incase people where we didn’t have any signal, we enjoyed the peace.

Excellent site wild camping with luxuries!
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Just like wild camping with the luxury of a toilet and a shower and a man selling wood comes round frequently, drinking water is available as well as hand washing facility
The stars visible from here are breath taking, we saw hubdreds of shooting stars in a meteor shower and could even see the Milky Way with the naked eye!
Came with a 3 year old and a 12 week old both had the best time and loved visiting the cows to say hello in the morning
