Bell tent
Liked: Beautiful location, the views are absolutely stunning. The fire pit and extra wood, at a small charge of £5, we found to be a lovely addition to the trip. The tents are large and spacious. The hosts are lovely, very helpful and attentive. The facilities are basic, but it’s an off grid experience and you get exactly that.
Disliked: Not really anything to do with the site itself but we had some very noisy neighbours drinking until 2:30am then screaming all night, meaning the 3 of us are absolutely shattered today. Again, absolutely no reflection on the hosts or facilities, but it definitely negatively impacted our trip, which is such a shame.

Liked: Ready to use . Quite polite owners
Disliked: Toilet facilities were lacking , although camping doesn’t constitute much in terms of a toilet. The portaloo leaning downhill and the little office unit used as a shower could do with improvements. That being said it is camping and it is a nice feature to have that as an availability.

Good location
Great that the air beds were provided and basic but necessity facilities.
Very friendly owners and cannot do enough to help.
Disliked: Very long grass around the tent and portaloo quite smelly and unhygienic.

From the manager: Glad you enjoyed the tents and your stay. The long grass is waiting to be cut for silage, super important for our cattle to eat in winter! Rest assured we will be cutting the whole field in the next couple of weeks.
I’m sorry the loo wasn’t up to what you would have liked. We’ve been taking care in the hot weather to do extra cleaning so it’s disappointing if that hadn’t made a difference. I’m looking into a different style portaloo, although we are limited by the temporary pop up nature of our site.
Hope to see you again sometime 🙂

Liked: This place is just magical! What a stunning field… a glorious meadow with long grasses and wild flowers-so wonderful for the bees.
The tent was really gorgeous (I would like one of these for myself!) and an air bed was provided that kept its shape all night (rare!).
A really stunning, peaceful setting. I wish we had more time to stay more than one night.
The little cabin with washing facilities was cute and we had a roaring fire with logs that we bought for £5.
Emma and her husband were very friendly and the communication was immediate.

Liked: Absolutely perfect no frills yurt camping at a price that makes it very accessible. Lovely clean tent, great air beds, solar shower, beautiful views of the hills. Short drive to the village, and easy access to the northern lakes and Eden valley. Very friendly host who welcomed us. Thanks Emma! Kris & Helen.
