What customers say
This well-maintained and spacious campsite offers beautiful countryside views and is praised for its exceptionally friendly and helpful owners. Guests highlight the clean facilities, including warm showers and toilets. Children enjoy the farm animals, and the location is convenient for local attractions like an ice cream farm and town. While most experiences are overwhelmingly positive, a few minor points were raised regarding the lack of mirrors in showers and the basic nature of portaloos.

From the manager: Thank you for leaving us a great review 🏕️
Perfect site for space, relaxation and such lovely hosts.
Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked The warm welcome when we arrived from Beverley. The set up is great- pitch around the side which allows for a big space in the middle for the kids to play. The proximity to Ulverston and Piel Island was great. I can't recommend the seal tour enough. My son was allowed to join in with feeding the cows, herding the sheep and cutting the grass at Hayfield. He was absolutely overjoyed at the experience. Everyone seemed to respect quiet hours from around 10/11pm. The shower was also a lovely addition and was very refreshing. Porta loos are never a particularly pleasant experience but these were definitely the cleanest I've ever used and are cleaned daily.
The views during the day are beautiful as is the night sky, full of stars.
Disliked Some might consider the site quite basic in terms of amenities however we prefer that. We love having the space to do activities around the tent. So many camp sites, you're on top of each other. We had a great pitch on an absolutely glorious weekend.

Great site for 'proper' camping family fun!
Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked The owners care about their site and their guests and the good reviews are well deserved. Lovely friendly atmosphere with drinks and snacks, fire pits and logs and helpful tips for places to visit - including the neighbouring ice cream farm. Don't be worried about the toilets - they are cleaned regularly. We extended our stay because we were having so much fun. Thank you!

A good, level site. Owners were friendly & helpful.Great for families
Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Large open field with great views. Toilet and shower very functional
Disliked Didn’t appear to have a quiet policy so late night music and chatter.
Low hedges so limited shelter from high winds.
I personally thought it was a little expensive for a site with limited facilities(£30 per night)

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked Great little camping spot, more suited for tents and alike, very friendly warm welcome from both the Farmer and his wife,
Not ideal for caravans or campers as there’s no Elsan point but apart from that it worked well for us in our motorhome
