Liked: Friendly staff. Availability. Good natured site. Great location right in Dent village. Great walks right from the campsite. Lots of hot water for dishwashing. Book stall for charity.
Disliked: Lower field toilets not able to cope with the full campsite, (but plenty of capacity at the top field). No Wifi in the bottom field (But 4G is good Labara)

Liked: The site owners were very friendly. The cafe served delicious homemade cakes. Beautiful scenery. Really enjoyed our stay.
Disliked: The pitches were quite close but probably due to it being so busy the weekend we went.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch (small)
Liked: Dent is a beautiful characterful village nestled in a valley.
Disliked: We arrived Good Friday and it was chaos. We had pre-booked a HARD STANDING pitch and was put down in the corner of the field on grass, wedged in between tents and a camper. We are in a motorhome. There was a path behind us with constant footfall. Spacing was not adequate between us, next doors tent was so close, we had to be careful not to trip on the guy rope & there was no space to sit out at the side of our vehicle. On our second day we came back to find a caravan was pitched in front of us. It was more like Glastonbury than a camp site. We will not be returning to this site for these reasons. I dont think it was safe, if there was a fire, it would have spread so quickly. Nowhere near enough facilities for the amount of people. The electric hook up was overloaded with splitter on splitter!!

Nice walks and pubs
Disliked: Booked for 3 nights, arrived late and couldn’t find a pitch with electric hook up so had to wait until the next day for a pitch. (It was a bank holiday weekend however and was told it had been quite crazy and chaotic but everything was sorted the next day)
Having to pay for shower facilities
Domestic laundry facilities as opposed to commercial washers/dryers
No hot water for dish washing

Liked: To be fair, the village of Dent is absolutely beautiful—a peaceful and charming place nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. The surrounding countryside is breathtaking, with rolling hills, scenic walks, and a real sense of tranquillity that makes it perfect for a getaway. It’s a real shame the campsite is so poorly managed, because the location itself is idyllic and has so much potential. Dent is well worth a visit, just maybe consider staying somewhere else if you want to fully enjoy it without the stress. Maybe it was down to it being a bank holiday but surely you must be better prepared than that, turn people away if you have to and give refunds - anything to avoid cramming people in the way she did.
Disliked: Overbooked, disorganised, and disappointing
We stayed at High Laning Camping and Caravan Park over the bank holiday weekend and, unfortunately, it was a frustrating experience from the moment we arrived.
Despite booking in advance, we had to wait over an hour to be allocated a pitch. We’d booked a grass pitch with electric, but were given one on a steep incline, making it impossible to pitch properly. After asking to be moved, it took even longer to get settled, and we still had to wait again to get the electric hook-up sorted.
The site was clearly overbooked, with tents and caravans packed far too closely together. To make matters worse, there weren’t enough electric hook-ups for everyone, so there were extension leads and wires running everywhere, which felt like a serious safety and fire hazard. The electricity even cut out completely on Friday night, leaving a lot of us without power.
On top of that, showers cost 50p for just five minutes, which is frustrating on its own, but the hot water for washing up also kept cutting out, making basic tasks like doing dishes a struggle.
It’s a shame because the surrounding area is lovely, but the lack of organisation, overcrowding, and poor facilities really put a downer the experience.
The owner was rude and unapproachable, barely acknowledging guests and handing out a list of over-the-top rules that made the whole place feel more like a strict school than a campsite. Thankfully, one of the other staff members—a friendly gentleman who helped us sort our pitch—was much more pleasant and kept checking in to make sure we were okay. A real contrast to the owner's attitude.

Liked: We had a fantastic 3-night stay at High Laning Caravan Site in Dent over Easter and would definitely recommend it to others. The site is set in a beautiful location with stunning views and lovely surroundings—perfect for a relaxing break in the countryside.
It was a busy Easter weekend, and while the caravans did feel quite close together, we were happy with the space we had. They aren’t unsafely close, and despite the site being full, it didn’t feel chaotic or overwhelming.
It’s a family-run site, which really adds a warm, personal touch. The lady on the quad bike was especially lovely—constantly working hard to keep things running smoothly and always stopping to check in with guests to make sure we were okay. It was such a nice, thoughtful touch that made us feel really welcome.
The facilities were clean and well looked after. Showers cost 40p or 50p, which is very reasonable for a hot, comfortable shower.
The village of Dent is full of charm and great places to explore nearby. There are two pubs just a short walk away—we went to the Sun Inn, which was very friendly and welcoming. We didn’t get the chance to try the George and Dragon, but it looked inviting.
All in all, it was a wonderful stay—great views, a well-kept site, friendly service, and a brilliant location. We’ll definitely be returning!
Disliked: It was a very busy site. More space would have been appreciated but we had a great pitch and didn’t feel crammed in like some other looked.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch (small)
Liked: Clean, friendly, with lots of services available
Disliked: Overcrowded, waited 1.5hrs to be shown to pitch and then put by the farm yard wall, which at best I'd describe as a parking space not a pitch but to add insult, after going out for the day in our camper we returned to find someone else had been given our spot!
Took it upon ourselves to park on grass opposite but was not questioned or approached about why we had moved.
There were also issues with electric supply due to number of campers on site.
All these issues even though I had prebooked and paid for a hard standing pitch with electric hook up, giving full details of vehicle type, how many days we were stopping and even an eta 😩
