Liked: Everything. Spotless site, pub super friendly. Elsan point and grey water waste clean and easily accessible.
The site is in a great spot had the sunshine all day.
Please note that there is no bus service to Carlisle. We got a taxi. If you need a taxi call radio taxis we used Carlisle taxis on the way there and he ripped me off by £6.50. Should have been around £15 to £16.
This is nothing to do with the site but wanted to make people aware.
All in all we will definitely use this site again.
Was very peaceful

Liked: Beautiful area. Quiet.
Disliked: Dogs are allowed on the site but not in the pub so if you’re thinking about going somewhere where you can go in the pub then this isn’t for you:

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave this review.
Unfortunately being a small country pub that is very busy and popular for locals and visitors, having dogs in the pub has caused us problems in the past giving us a lot of bad press.
So unfortunately we had to make this decision.
Even our dog Tilly doesn't come in and she liked nothing more than coming and greeting the customers.
It is stated on our pitchup ad for all to read and take into consideration before booking.
Dogs are more than welcome on site and in our beer garden.
Happy travels Barrie

Liked: Quiet site in a quaint little village with a great butchers shop.
Disliked: Not being able to take dogs into pub, we would have gad food and drinks there 2x nights of our stay and had friends visit who would have joined us had we been able to take our dog in the pub. Only toilets available are in the pub and accessible during open hours, this stated on the door as 11pm for a Saturday night, but the pub was closed at 9.30pm.

From the manager: I'm sorry your visit wasn't to your satisfaction.
But we feel that we do need to bring to your attention that all the information on our facilities is there for everyone to read before you book so you can make an informed choice on if our site is adequate to your needs.
We do state that dogs are welcome on the site and in the beer garden (where we serve meals) but not in the bar area.
Our beer garden was well used on the weekend of your stay for meals and drinks by caravaners, cyclists, villagers, some with dogs, and with the temperature at 19 degrees it was a great weekend for it.
We are a small family run food led village pub and having dogs in the pub has caused alot of problems in the past so we had to come to this decision.
(Not even our own dogs are allowed in)
We also state that there are no toilets or showers on site but you are very welcome to use the toilets in the pub within the pub opening hours.
You state that the pub was closed at 9.30pm, that was not the case as I was on the bar that night and yes the front door was closed but not locked as we were still open with customers in.
I generally do push the door to at around 10pm.
Yes I did shut at 10.30pm and that was because all customers had left and being in a small village I knew no customers would be heading our way at that time of night.
It being on the pub grounds was perfect and why we chose…

Liked: It being on the pub grounds was perfect and why we chose this place. Food was lovely and the owners very welcoming
Disliked: Unfortunately no showers or toilets on site but was advertised as this so can’t complain but as always it would be a bonus and make it a more convenient stay.

Liked: Great site just off the M6. Plenty of space for my caravan and towing vehicle. Easy access to the site. Right next to the pub. Really made very welcome by the pub staff with lovely food and a great pint.
Would definitely visit again.
