  • Family-friendly site in the former Emmerdale village
  • A 15-minute drive from Yorkshire Dales National Park; Leeds 35 minutes
  • Clubhouse with a well-stocked bar; a short drive from market towns
Spacious pitches, scenic Yorkshire surroundings, proximity to Leeds and a pint in Emmerdale’s Woolpack pub… These all await you at Esholt Sports and Leisure Club, a family-friendly site set in the village that was formerly used as the location for the TV soap. It's surrounded by scenic countryside in the Yorkshire village of Esholt, 20 minutes' drive from Bradford and 35 minutes from Leeds. Esholt found fame as the original setting of Emmerdale: fans of the show will probably recognise several other village locations while here. (And whether you're a fan or not, a pint at the Woolpack is probably a top idea…) Esholt Sports and Leisure Club has a clubhouse and a well-stocked bar. Amenities for guests include toilets, showers and a chemical disposal point. Esholt is well placed for visiting many Yorkshire attractions, such as the museums of Leeds and Bradford, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Saltaire and the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: Pretty village and quiet location

Disliked: No hot water on site for showers the first night, on the second night not even water from the hot taps, just cold water taps operating.
Shower blocks also left muddy after football matches and training earlier in the day.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: Quiet area

Disliked: Owner wasn’t on site, if it wasn’t for another holiday maker we wouldn’t have got in as the lock was very stiff. Didn’t know where to pitch up so went in a vacant pitch hoping we wouldn’t get woken up during the night to move. Showers and toilet was very out dated with mould and flaking paint. Had to wait 10 minutes for the shower to heat up and in this time the lights went out twice as where on a sensor. Finally get in the shower and the lights went out 4 times causing me to get out wailing my arms about to get the light back on as it was pitch black this making the floor wet and slippery.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: This was a site full of surprises, all good! The steward was very welcoming, and kind. He made sure I had all the information about the site that I was likely to need and gave me a pitch which meant all the facilities were within easy reach. When I had a problem, I sent an email, within 5 minutes the steward was there to help.
A lovely quiet site and clean, tidy facilities.
I'll go back there again when in the area.
Thank you Stewart/Stuart (I forgot to ask) for making me so welcome.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: The area was lovely, campsite was level flat and plenty of electric pitches.

Disliked: The toilet block is minging, old dated and stank.

chavs in the tents near us (not the fault of the site).

And loads of planes and helicopters going over head.
We didn't end up staying the full night.
