Electric grass pitch

Liked The site has loads to offer. The toilets and showers are cleaned regularly. Theres a onsite shop which is priced fairly. Free WiFi with no buffering, and the staff go above and beyond what's required.
My younger one (aged 4) loved the park, paddle boats and kayaks. And my older kids (age 9 and 15) loved the aqua bounce and jumping in the lake from the kayaks.
Theres also axe throwing, rock climbing and other activities available.

Disliked Nothing. Love this place

Electric grass pitch

Liked The spacious pitches with plenty of sun and shade from the trees. Had your own little area. Pitches were really flat and good ground. The toilets and showers were kept clean. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great little shop literally had at least one of everything you could need in the tiniest space! It felt safe for the kids to walk around and there was a lovely little wooded trim trail style park.

Disliked There was a bit of litter left from the previous occupants and a dog mess. Wasn’t much, but a bit of a put off from the start. Could hear the hum of traffic in the distance but I guess unless you’re out in the country you’ll get that. It was fun for a night or two.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Nothing to be totally honest

Disliked Very expensive to just park on grass all the water activity’s are open to the public so everything was fully booked for the weekend so basically paying £97 to park on some grass .. reception staff was very young & very rude put us on the pitch 1 which was all unlevel grass with holes and loose stones asked to be moved to somewhere better for 1 year old moved us to middle part opposite which was better for the children but with all the activity’s been fully booked if we knew we would not of booked to stay here . Toilet and shower block was filthy never seen a cleaner once floors were so mucky . Stayed on so many sites even wild camped and this was by far the worst

Electric grass pitch

Liked We had a large pitch tucked away which was great for us.

On a whole the site does what it says on tin!

Be mindful Hatfield doesn’t really have a town to walk around we walked in which was a nice walk through a big field but other than 2/3 pubs there isn’t anything else. We ate in the bay horse which was spot on but I’d recommend booking.

You can hear the motorway we knew this was a possibility due to the location, through the day it wasn’t an issue but if your a light sleeper take earplugs.

Disliked Not necessarily disliked but improvements could be made:
- the showers would benefit from a thorough clean not just a mop out (the mop is also filthy) the floor and walls need a good scrub. If this happened the facilities would be spot on. Have some squeegees available for people to use to help keep the floors dryer and therefore cleaner.

- toilet rolls need to be replenished in the cafe/bar area more frequently and the bins emptied.

- we searched all over for some bricks to raise the disposable BBQ off the ground, if each water point had a small stack it would be much better improved.

- whilst we didn’t partake so this is purely observation only, usually activities such as the climbing wall are lead by enthusiastic instructors but I have to say the kids looked bored and there was zero enthusiasm heard or seen I’d be disappointed if I’d signed my kids up to it.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Clean lovely family campsite, great facilities and feel you can let the kids wander off safely as it’s not too big, the lake is great for activities and the deal they had on with the inflatable aqua park with buy one get one half price, meant it wasn’t too expensive. The camp shop is a great little shop and seem to think of everything .. and the cafe/window hutch serving food was a hit with my kids who loved their curly fries and pizza

Electric grass pitch

Liked Staff were friendly and helpful, clean and nice hot showers . Plenty for kids to do and a nice secure setting to allow kids to explore whilst being able to see them. We come back every year. The pitch has always been respected and quiet at night and water park is a huge hit with the kids .

Disliked More choice of beer for the husband on offer 😜 also the price increase from my last stay wasn't great. £50 a night for just me and my children in a touring caravan .

Electric grass pitch

Liked Nice quiet site
Single mum with 1 x 6 Yr old
Felt very safe and secure
Cafe for essentials, limited menu but handy
Lovely lake and paddleboard experience
Staff very friendly and informative
Clean and warm, manned shower block
Well lit with couple of small play areas for children

Disliked Could do with couple more bins around the site and maybe more extensive menu at the cafe.. but then we are beginner campers so once we get used to alfresco cooking it'll be less needed.. :)
