The campsite

  • Small adults-only motorhome site in rural North Yorkshire
  • A five-minute drive from Ravenscar; Scarborough 15 minutes
  • Just off the Cinder Track, with excellent access to car-free trails
Whitby or Scarborough? Scarborough or Whitby? At Valley View Camping, you can kiss that age-old dilemma goodbye and settle down somewhere with easy access to both of North Yorkshire's most popular seaside resorts. Driving to either is a breeze – Scarborough is 15 minutes away by road, while you can reach Whitby in about 20. But there are rewards for travelling under your own steam too – the site is a few minutes' walk from the Cinder Track, a traffic-free bike and walking trail that connects up Yorkshire's seaside capitals, passing through lots of scenic spots that you might otherwise miss. Valley View Camping's level grounds are small in scale and overlook peaceful open countryside. It's an adults-only setup too, so the place should stay nice and peaceful while you relax outside your motorhome, perhaps settling in for drinks and meals on the picnic tables provided (you're welcome to bring along a barbecue to create those meals if you like). Other facilities on site include showers, toilets and chemical disposal. In need of village amenities? Here you're a five-minute drive from Ravenscar's tea rooms, public toilets and stony beach. The nearest farm shop is three miles to the south in Cloughton Newlands. When you arrive, just park up and pick your pitch (with any awnings to the right, please).

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked: Loved it
Beautiful calm and serene location. Dog friendly. Beautifully kept grounds for grass or handstand areas. Fantastic clean toilets, pot wash and showers. No electric available. But what I thought was amazing was the availability of a microwave, kettle and fridge freezer in the pot wash area for those without facilities. Nothing not to like. Choose your own plot and be respectful so in all honesty we never met the owners. But everyone and thing was perfect and as there's no lights other than toilets and showers. Everyone was quite by dark

Disliked: NOTHING!

Non-electric hardstanding and grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked: Perfect location for walking . Access to the Cinder Track and the coast from the site . Friendly staff who are happy to help . Facilities are kept spotless. It’s on a working farm which has its benefits as loads of newborn lambs in the next field. Will definitely return.

Non-electric hardstanding and grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked: Beautiful setting with access onto the cinder path for cycling and walking. Lovely, helpful owners. Toilets and showers excellent. Ideal position to visit Scarborough and Whitby. Level pitches. Dog friendly.

Disliked: Pitches aren't allocated so can be problematic if you go out for a day in your van and come back. The owner came straight out and sorted out for us though.

Liked: Lovely chilled adults only campsite, owners are lovely. It's great it's on a working farm. We saw baby lambs frolicking and beautiful horses. The new toilet and shower block are nice and clean and modern.
Not far from Haydon Wyke a lovely walk.

From the manager: Hi.
Thanks for your review. Just to let you know, the Pot wash room is located next to the shower & toilets - it’s the 1st door/room of the block.
Also the bins and big trade bin are located at the site entrance.
