Non-electric gravel touring pitch
Liked: Site is well maintained and spotless, all amenities quite close by, checking in system well organised and a telephone number is available if you have any issues. Walking distance into Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay but if you can't walk there's a bus stop at the end of the road. This is the second time we've stayed here.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked: Simple booking and check-in procedure. Good location, but quite remote, lack of facilities on site, although perfect for a one night stop off with adequate level pitch and electric hook-up. Couple of nearby pubs with good reputation for food ‘The Hare & Hounds’ and ‘The Windmill Inn’ less than a mile, 10-15min walk in either direction. About a 45 minute walk along a quiet country road to The Abbey and ‘Whitby Brewery’, a nice independent place serving a great range of local ales and pilsner with a good outdoor space, great backdrop of the Abbey on the skyline. Another 5 minute walk takes you down to the heart of Whitby, with breathtaking views of the bay as you make your way down the famous 199 steps. If you decide to have an evening drink in Whitby, as we did and don’t fancy the walk back, it will cost about £10 in a taxi from near the station. Overall, would recommend for a night or possibly two, but not the sort of pitch you would stay for a longer period owing to facilities.
Disliked: It was fine for us as a fairly young fit couple, but if you don’t like walking it’s probably a little too far from local amenities. Would definitely recommend planning ahead as no shop nearby, so make sure you have everything you need before arrival. Lack of atmosphere and community feel, which may be great for some people, but we didn’t see anyone else on-site to even say hello to.

Liked: Simple site with easy access to water & waste disposal. Beautiful views. Road busy during day but not a problem & quiet at night.
Easy to communicate with the owner by text. I asked about the bus stop & also requested a further night.
Easy cycle into Whitby either past the Abbey or along the cinder track which also goes to Robin Hood’s Bay.
Disliked: Pitches not level, need chocks.

Liked: Location and views are great,a lovely little site even though no facilities but that isn't a problem if you have shower/toilet in your caravan/motorhome. About 3.5 miles into Whitby and a bus stop just down the road.
Disliked: Nothing.
