  • Well-maintained touring pitches on a family-run North Yorkshire farm
  • In the North York Moors National Park, six miles from Scarborough
  • Bus stop outside the farm; two villages within walking distance
A bit of countryside, a bit of coast for your North Yorkshire break? Mix and match as you wish when you stay at Dale Farm Touring Site – this small family-run site is in the North York Moors National Park and only about six miles from Scarborough. That handy location means you’ll have easy access to both seaside days and rural rambles while you're here – Dalby Forest, Pickering and Castle Howard are all close by, as are beach days in Scarborough and Filey or coastal birdwatching at RSPB Bempton Cliffs. There are also several footpaths in the area just around the farm, so you can set off on scenic walks straight from the site. This location is likely to win even more location points when you learn that there’s a bus stop just outside with regular services for easy jaunts to Scarborough, Helmsley and many of the villages in between. And on top of that, the villages of East Ayton and West Ayton are within easy walking distance for three village pubs, a small supermarket, a seafood restaurant and a takeaway. To make life even easier, a fish and chip van stops by on site to serve meals on Tuesday evenings. Dale Farm's owners have over 50 years' experience in running a caravan site, so they've got a decent idea of what guests want and need – as a result you'll be staying on well-kept level pitches surrounded by lovely landscaping, and will have access to a chemical disposal point as well as electric and water hookups. Please note that as this is a site designed for self-contained tourers, there are no toilets or showers on site.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Well kept site in a lovely location, the villages ( about 15 mins walk) had a lovely couple of pubs and places to eat

Disliked: The hard standing pitch was difficult to peg our awning out for the van, due to there being no facilities at all, couldn't stay any more than one night in a campervan

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Site was very easy to find. Our pitch was level and quite spacious. Adele was very welcoming and helpful, explaining where everything was. We were able to travel by bus that stops directly outside the farm , this was an added bonus. You can travel for a standard fare of £2.00 which is so much cheaper than having to find and pay for parking. Would definitely visit Dale Farm again

Disliked: Nothing to dislike.
