A potentially nice site, but needs a member of staff to be on hand.
Electric grass pitch
Liked The welcome, public facilities quirky but good. Kitchen area useful.
Disliked Quite noisy at night, although rules stated quiet after 10pm. On our first night(of 4), there was a lot of loud talking until after 11.30.
On the second night there was a private function in a nearby village- not the campsite’s fault- which didn’t finish until 1.45am.
On the third night there seemed to be two very late arrivals- one after 10.45 and another well after 11. There was then quite a lot of banging of car doors and someone speaking on a phone after midnight.
On the fourth night it was more peaceful, except that it was extremely windy, again beyond the control of the campsite managers!
We left rather tired….
There seemed to be no one in the morning, or at anytime, after 2pm on Sunday, to speak to at reception. We arrived on a Friday afternoon and left on Tuesday.

From the manager: We don’t allow music after 10 and ask that people be respectful of others guests whilst chatting - sadly we can’t walk around banging a cup and saying lights out…..
But we allways say if anyone is being a little to chatty and keeping others awake, please speak to them and if the issue continues contact the owners and we will happily pop over.
But please keep in mind we are usually up and about ourselves preparing for the day, in the cafe and usually up at 6 am so the last thing we want it to have to patrol the site at 11pm.
The noise levels from the other event in the next village was an absolute nightmare, as you kindly said out of our control.
Yes the cafe is closed on a Monday and Tuesday as staff need time off, only my self the owner is on site because I like here. Also this is also as much as possible my day off ! But I’m all ways a phone call or a ring door bell away if guests need anything.
There’s still toilets to clean, grass to cut and bins to empty on a Monday and Tuesday.
Thanks for your feedback but 7/10 to us is a little bit of an insult, given over the weekend especially dealing with the noise issue off site on Sat ( and other issues ) I didn’t get to sleep till 4 am doing my darn best to make sure guests were happy, and then up again at 6 to start in the reception / cafe
Lovely, peaceful campsite with great facilities and a warm welcome.

Liked We were greeted on arrival by a really lovely lady who was incredibly friendly and welcoming—such a great first impression! The camping field was nicely spaced out, mostly flat, and had a relaxed feel to it. The toilets were quite unique in style, spotlessly clean, and I really liked them. I didn’t eat at the café, but I did pop in for some ice cream and noticed it was busy with people—always a good sign! Overall, a really lovely campsite. We had a great weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Disliked Honestly, there wasn’t really anything I disliked. The only slight thing was some music we heard quite late on Saturday night, which seemed to be coming from somewhere offsite. It was a bit strange, as we were in the middle of nowhere, so I’m not sure where it was coming from! That said, the campsite had even put up posters in the toilet block to let people know it wasn’t coming from their site, which I appreciated. I’m not sure if it’s a regular occurrence, but to be fair, I went straight to sleep and wasn’t disturbed—so it clearly wasn’t that loud!

Liked The campsite is spacious with plenty of pitches to choose from, views from the site great.. Hot showers and a lovely little cafe on site. Will definitely be back
Disliked Not a dislike of the campsite itself, but loud music being played until the early hours somewhere nearby. The owners acknowledged the issue and apologised, not alot else they could do.

Liked Friendly greeting on arrival, lovely staff in cafe, which served delicious cakes among other things. We had a great pitch with a nice view. Campsite was spacious and had little path where we walked our dog to the village with pub and chippy.
The facilities were clean and well maintained, shower very powerful and hot. We had a great time and will definitely return.

Peaceful little spot, helpful staff, great showers.
Tiny house microlodge
Liked Good location for RHS Harlow Carr, Studley Park and many other places to see. Small enough that our toddler could wander about in view. Great bacon butties at the cafe. We stayed in the tiny house which was really clean and comfortable.
