  • Cosy shepherd's hut for two in the coastal village of Skipsea
  • Bridlington beach 15 minutes' drive; Hull half an hour
  • Cleverly designed hut with fold-out table and outdoor eating area
Mill Farm Shepherds Hut is in the corner of Mill Farm Country Park’s campsite, on the edge of the village of Skipsea. This hut for two is in a great location for the East Yorkshire coast – it’s about 15 minutes’ walk to the beach from here, or five minutes to the local pub… Skipsea’s other amenities include a village shop and a tea room with ice cream parlour; as you stroll around, keep an eye out for the remains of Skipsea Castle on an Iron Age mound. It’s also well placed for outings to other nearby seaside towns including Hornsea, Bridlington and Filey. Your cosy hut is fully equipped with a 5x6-foot bed (with bed linen and towels provided) plus a kitchenette that’s got a microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle (plus crockery and utensils). Low-key entertainment options in the hut include books, puzzles, games and a radio, but there’s purposely no TV to save you from screen time. Just outside the hut is a small hardstanding area with a table and seating, plus a grass area where you can set up a barbecue (tools are provided but you’ll need to bring your own barbecue). A little walk from the hut gets you to the facilities building, which houses a tourist info point and washing-up point plus ladies’ and gents’ toilets and showers. Lots of little extras have been thought of here, from accessible facilities to electric sockets for hairdryers and shavers. Free hot water for showers and dishwashing is included in the price.
