  • Quiet, relaxed site on 35 acres of land with a private 15-acre lake
  • A 20-minute drive to the Yorkshire coast and half an hour to Hull
  • Pizzeria, fishing (additional fee) and a bar with an outdoor terrace
Get to Greengrass Park for a peaceful break in the East Yorkshire countryside – this static holiday home and touring caravan site has noise and safety policies in place to keep its ambience serene. The quiet vibes mean that it’s a calm setting for a spot of fishing at the 15-acre private lake; fishing is for an additional fee, so make sure to arrange it at the reception upon arrival. Non-anglers, meanwhile, can sprawl out in a grassy area for a bit of a chillout session or make a beeline for nearby coastal towns like Hornsea (20 minutes’ drive) and Bridlington (half an hour). Heading to Hull (30 minutes) for the shopping, museums and aquarium also comes much recommended. Pick up essentials in Brandesburton and Leven, a couple of villages around three miles away with supermarkets, a butcher and a deli. For meals, your options include a Chinese takeaway and restaurant, an award-winning fish ‘n’ chip shop and friendly pubs. Not that you’ll need to go far for food: the site has a restaurant and pizzeria as well as a pub serving ales, draught beers, spirits and wines with an open-air terrace looking out across the lake.

Disliked Not really a pitch as such, toilet block need some work

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback and for staying with us.

We’re glad you enjoyed the location, and appreciate you noting that this visit was in Site 2, which is set a little further from the lake. For guests who prefer to be by the lake, we do recommend selecting your preferred pitch when booking, as all available pitches are clearly shown at that time.

Regarding your comment about the pitch, Site 2 is a grassed area specifically designed to accommodate tourers and motorhomes, with space left between for comfort. We’re sorry if this wasn’t quite what you expected.

We also take your comments about the toilet block on board, and we’re working to make improvements in that area.

Thanks again for your review, and we hope to welcome you back soon.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Staff were Friendly site was very peaceful. For the price it is a nice site.food in bar was outstanding and great prices

Disliked The toilets and showers are in desperate need of full make over . Holes in toilet ceiling mould all over the shower try and curtains, smelt fusty black dirt and cobwebs all over we had been placed so far away from the children's play area in park 2
Took 15 mins to walk with small child
Bar did not open in the afternoon so you could have a cold drink while children were playing

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

We completely understand your concerns about the condition of the toilets and shower facilities — and we’re pleased to announce that these amenities are about to undergo an exciting new revamp. A full refurbishment is scheduled, and we’re confident these updates will make a big difference to our guests' comfort and experience.
We also understand how important it is for families with young children to be close to the play area, and we're always happy to accommodate special requests where possible. We'll also be reviewing our afternoon bar opening hours as part of ongoing improvements.

Your feedback is valuable as we continue to make enhancements to the park, and we truly hope you'll return to experience the positive changes in the near future.

Warm Regards,
Greengrass Park Team

Liked Lake and silent area

Disliked No one said what's where just where to park. Couldn't find bin . We had to Explore everything by ourself . Mobile signal terrible . No wi fi .

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you felt a little lost on arrival, we always aim to provide a friendly and informative welcome, and we’ll be reviewing how we can make our check-in process clearer and more helpful moving forward, including better signage for things like waste points.

With regard to the mobile signal and Wi-Fi, we do note at the time of booking that Wi-Fi is not available and that mobile reception can be limited in some areas of the park. This is very much by design, as we aim to offer a peaceful, relaxed space where guests can switch off, unwind, and enjoy a break from the usual digital noise of everyday life.

That said, we understand this may not suit everyone, and your comments help us balance that rustic charm with clearer communication and easier orientation around the site.

We hope you’ll consider giving us another try in the future — perhaps with a fresh set of eyes.

Warm regards

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Location is in the middle of nowhere and seemed peaceful

Disliked Where do I start...greeted by a lady who drove us up the road to the other side of the park and showed us where to put our van. There were no other tourers there, the ground was uneven and very little room if any other tourers did turn up. As far as knowing anything else about the park as in where showers or toilets were, how to navigate the park etc we weren't told a thing. We had a walk around the park and used the toilets which were unclean and obsolete. We didn't find the showers. We walked a way back to the reception area to find the cafe bar only opens Friday to Sunday and there wasn't a shop open currently as it is under maintenance. We walked to the park for our son to use which was padlocked up with a keycode which we hadn't been given the code for, therefore he couldn't use. The park seemed overall very rundown and derelict and we weren't made to feel welcome therefore after walking around we decided to leave. Never had an experience like it before.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your visit did not meet your expectations.

We always aim to create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our guests, and it’s clear from your review that we fell short in several areas during your stay.
We would also like to clarify a couple of points. All of our touring and accommodation areas are accurately described at the time of booking, including any limitations or facility schedules, so guests can make an informed decision before arrival.
In regard to the play park, we’d like to clarify that it is never locked to guests. There are two gates side-by-side, one for guest entry and another larger gate designated for maintenance vehicle access. The maintenance gate is kept locked for safety reasons, but the entry gate remains open at all times for guest use. We understand this may have caused some confusion, and we’ll look into making signage clearer to prevent this in the future.

Thank you again for your feedback. While we regret that your experience wasn't a positive one, it helps us identify where we can improve and deliver a better experience moving forward.

Local attractions

Browse Beverley’s traditional market on a Saturday or swing by this town at any time to take in the Gothic minster and catch the horses hightailing it around the racecourse (20 minutes’ drive). It’s also worth setting off towards Skirlington Leisure Park for the famed car boot sale held on Sundays (outside of January) and to stroll through 70 acres of landscaped countryside leading down to the East Yorkshire coast. Further north (around an hour) is the edge of the North York Moors National Park, where rural police show Heartbeat was filmed, and the location of well-known seaside towns such as Scarborough and Whitby (an hour and an hour and a half, respectively). Spend time on the former's sandy beaches before roaming the ruined Gothic abbey – the inspiration for the novel Dracula – in the latter. Another famed urban settlement not to miss is the ancient city of York (an hour and 10 minutes) with its cobbled streets, Viking history and clutch of excellent independent boutiques. Walk along ancient walls circling the buildings, poke around a 13th-century Gothic cathedral with medieval stained glass and bell towers, then meander to the Monk Bar gate for an exhibition on the infamous King Richard III.
