‘If you build it, they will come’ goes the line from the 1989 movie Field of Dreams. With that in mind, the owners of Field of Dreams have indeed built it – and now you can come to this quiet Suffolk spot if you’re a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club. This adults-only site has been set up with tourers in mind (and their dogs, who are most welcome to come along for the ride as long as they're kept on a lead). It’s a relaxed and peaceful place with views over farmland where you may well spot local wildlife like deer, hares and marsh harriers passing by. On a clear day you can see all the way to the water tower at Caister, about 12 miles away. In setting up their site for the 2024 season, the owners have planted 60 trees and around a thousand hedge plants, all of which contribute to the relaxed rural atmosphere here. There’s also a pond on site where you might be able to spot more wildlife, and a well-kept grass area for chilling out or walking the dog. Pitches have been well designed here, with individual electric points and freshwater taps, and the place is kept nicely secure with CCTV and a code-operated entrance gate. The village of Tofts Monk (and its thriving pub) is about a mile away, as is a busy farm shop. There are also plenty of circular walking and bike trails to follow from the site.

  • The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).
  • Guests under the age of 18 are not allowed on site.
  • Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.
  • A cable measuring at least 25 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.
  • Units longer than 9 metres are not allowed.
  • Units heavier than 7500 kg are not allowed.
  • Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.
  • Swimming in the lake is not allowed.

A very peaceful location overlooking farmland, we loved watching the Roe deer and hares running across the adjacent field
Friendly welcoming owners who go out of their way to make sure every detail is attended to.

Liked The moment I stepped out the van, I was met with an overwhelming feeling of calm as the place is so peaceful. The grounds are well kept, the shower/toilet is immaculate and the views... well, fantastic. Myself and my Parsons Terrier thoroughly enjoyed watching the Deer and Hares running about in the field next to us.
A really lovely site. The owner also seemed very polite and welcoming. It seems that all campers on the site were very friendly too, which always adds to a relaxing and calm atmosphere.
Highly recommended.

I left the WiFi and child friendliness rating as 0 as its not applicable... I do hope this doesn't impact the scoring!

Liked Everything about this site. Fantastic hosts. Large level pitches with great views across fields, spot the family of deers and other wildlife. Shower and toilet spotless. This site has a really tranquil and relaxing vibe. About a mile walk down the country lane or across the footpath on the field there is a local pub which was very nice. Liked This campsite is an absolute gem tucked away in beautiful farmland. The peaceful and open surroundings make it the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature. The spacious pitches are nice & level offering plenty of room, and the whole site maintains a calm, unhurried atmosphere. The facilities were spotless and thoughtfully maintained, with a clean, warm shower, well-stocked loo. What really sets this place apart is the warm hospitality from the owners they are so nice to talk to.

Liked Small site with very well laid pitches on hard standing with water and power by each site. Lovely quiet location and first class security.
The Ablution cabin was superb. Clean, spacious, hooks provided and a shower that would grace a high end hotel. No horrible buttons to keep pressing or coins to feed into a meter.
The owners were flexible and very helpful.
The site is not easy to find but no problem if you read and follow the excellent directions carefully.

Disliked The only minor issue was that we followed the email instructions to the gate but then did not have the code to get through. Tried calling Colin but got his answer phone. Luckily another camper turned up as we sat wondering how to get in.
The code IS in the text that we had received. However, as it was a few days before I had forgotten.
I understand the security concerns that lead to not putting the code in the email - but at least a reminder in the email to look in the text would be helpful.

Do not follow sat nav for final approach, due to gate configuration. Approach the site only from the A143/Toft Monks. In Toft Monks, take the turning for Maypole Green onto Pound Lane. Follow this road down past the church on the left, past some farm buildings on the right. As the road drops down, you will see houses on the left.
