Beckside camping with electric hook-up
Lakeside plots
Midsummer evening

  • Peaceful Norfolk campsite with scenic lakes and streams
  • A 10-minute drive from the Blickling Estate; Mundesley 15 minutes
  • On-site natural fishing and tennis court available
With several lakes and streams spread around the 27 well-maintained acres on site, it’s all about the peaceful pace at Mill Farm Camping in scenic north-east Norfolk. From here, you’ll be well set to map out the way to many scenic places, including the Norfolk Broads (boat hire and watersports are ways to get out on the water here) or local seaside towns. The area around the small village of Felmingham, where this site is located, has lots of things to do itself, too. Depending on your mood, you could explore nearby coastal towns like Mundesley, Cromer and Sheringham, stroll 25 minutes down the road to the local pub or visit ornate country houses like the nearby Blickling Estate. Back at base, there are ample leisure opportunities for activities like natural fishing (although the site's waters are not maintained as a fishery) and tennis. Cyclists and walkers won't have to go far to get some exercise either, as Mill Farm Camping has very good access to the local network of north Norfolk footpaths and public rights of way. Facilities here include smart toilets and hot showers for ladies and gents, a washing-up area with hot running water and a chemical disposal point. Mill Farm Camping is also pet-friendly and welcomes dogs throughout the camping season.

Liked: Just came back from a lovely couple of days staying here…

Really nice little site, clean facilities which are close to pitches.

Bbqs and fire pits available at no extra charge (it’s first come first served) and you can buy some logs from the site.

Theres also a tennis court you can use for free, and free WiFi (connection wasn’t always available)

Really big pitches, lovely walking trails around the lakes and beyond and about 20 minutes to Cromer / Sherringham

Reasonably priced and just really enjoyed it there

You have to stop on the corner in front of the house on arrival (I got confused and drove past it) and the friendly owner gives you a little map and tells you where you can go walking etc

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Gorgeous site with nice walks around the lakes. Very peaceful sitting and listening to the birds. Everything was well kept and tidy.
The facilities were great, all very clean and tidy. We were given a great info sheet with a map of the site and answers to common questions. There were also books to swap in the kitchen, alongside business cards/flyers from local spots, which we found very useful to give us ideas of things to do and places to go locally. (Found a lovely bar/bistro in North Walsham called The Shambles thanks to this!).
Firepits were available to borrow, it was quiet when we were there so no trouble to use one. There was also wood available to buy for £5.
Well situated to get to lots of places such as Aylsham, Cromer and Norwich - but out of the way so there's not loads of noise from traffic.
Great communication from the hosts too, they answered an email enquiry very promptly, and always asked how we were doing when we saw them on site.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Beautiful, peaceful and well kept site. Can’t comment on the staff as we didn’t meet them. However, we had a nice call en-route to the site asking our eta and our pitch details were left at door of owners house, as we arrived outside “normal” arrival time.

Disliked: Minor complaint, but it wasn’t immediately obvious where non-recyclable waste should be put. Chemical waste disposal point could potentially be a bit grim, especially in hot weather!!! 🤢

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Second time staying at Mill Farm Camping. The site is so peaceful. I love the fact that it is surrounded by lakes and small rivers. Toilet and shower facilities were clean with nice hot water. We had 4g coverage the whole time. Wilcott, Bacton and Sea Palling beaches are close by and sandy rather than stony, easy access. Interesting to go to Happisburgh and see the lighthouse, I didn't find this beach easy to access.

Local attractions

For everything coastal, you’ll want to home in on Comer (20 minutes' drive). Whether it’s sticking to the sandy beaches, braving the surf or walks up on the Norfolk Coast Path, you’ll find plenty to do around the sea. All that water action isn’t just limited to the coast, though, as Wroxham (half an hour) is your go-to for boating in the Norfolk Broads. A little trip back in time is a good addition to any itinerary and as well as cycling and fishing on the grand Blickling Estate (10 minutes), you might want to pick up a heritage train trip on the Bure Valley Railway (10 minutes) or sniff around the Muckleburgh Military Collection (30 minutes) to see artefacts of old… or East Ruston Old Vicarage Garden (25 minutes) for all the scents of a sublime garden. And where else for some nostalgic-type moseying around? Mundesley (15 minutes) is a fine example of a traditional Victorian seaside village. Or, there are beach huts and the promenade at Sheringham (25 minutes) for another classic seaside outing.
