  • Friendly and simple site a short walk from the river in Loddon
  • Great Yarmouth and BeWILDerwood within a half-hour drive
  • Pubs, cafés, shops and bus stops within a few minutes' walk
What’s it to be for your Norfolk break – beach days, country walks, boating around the Broads, active adventures, city strolls, sipping cider in the pub? Mix and match as you please when you stay at Loddon Oasis Camping, a simple and friendly site in the little town of Loddon. This attractive little riverside town is a fabulously convenient one for all sorts of days out, so you should never want for things to do while you're staying here. And the site’s setting is very handy too, within just a few minutes' walk of the town’s shops, cafés, pubs, bus stops and other amenities. Dogs are welcome on site, and there’s plenty of space nearby for them (and you) to stretch legs on a riverside walk. If you're not feeling quite so active, settle on the riverbank for a bit of fishing. This small and simple site prides itself on being a friendly place with a great community spirit. Families, couples and solo adventurers are all equally welcome, and will be encouraged to rest and unwind in this lovely chilled-out location. Barbecues are permitted for those who fancy a bit of outdoor cookery, although it should be noted that there’s a fish and chip shop just over the road… As a fuss-free site, the facilities have been kept on the simple side, but you'll have access to essentials like toilets, showers and picnic tables.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely peaceful location. Jack was on hand when we arrived and gave us a choice of pitches, very friendly and helpful. Toilets and shower though basic were newly done and clean. Chippy, chinese and pizza/kebab takeaways right opposite the gate. Co-op and few yards up the road. A lovely little oasis for a quiet weekend break for ourselves and dog. I've only given 1 star for wi-fi only because we couldn't get connected. Jack did come over to us and try help but no luck, he apologised but it wasn't the end of the world, a weekend with out wi-fi didn't hurt.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Really lovely campsite. Was greeted on arrival by the owner and he showed us where we could pitch up. Facilities were really clean, nicest toilets we’ve used on a campsite yet. You are very close to a Chinese, kebab and chip shop aswell as the local co op. Even had WiFi!!

Disliked We did hear some noise coming from neighbouring campers and from the pub which is located less than a minute away but managed to go back to sleep quick enough.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Jack gave us a very warm welcome which was nice! We camped with a tent on a very hot weekend, and he kindly let us use the fridge from one of the posh bell tents to store our drinks - which was very kind! Not too big of a site which makes it nice and quiet. Lovely village, 3 pubs, a fish and chip shop, 2 pizza places, lovely little wharf, a co-op, everything you needed! Toilets and shower very clean and tidy. Great WiFi also! Had the best weekend and we will definitely be back!!

Disliked Only one shower and 2 toilets - not necessarily a dislike as luckily we never had to queue for the shower despite it being a busy weekend. However as the campsite grows more popular (which it will) I imagine there will be more queues.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Great location as in the centre of Loddon, 4 pubs 4 takeaways and 2 shops all within a few hundred yards.
Jack and his team are very friendly and helpful. Loads of dog walking areas.
There are bins on site and you can have an awning.

Disliked Toilet block needs doubling in size, however the block is clean and perfectly useable.
No signage to campsite so follow the loddon marina signage

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Easy to find , nice small site with good lighting to the newly refurbished toilet, shower, washing area and bin area. Very close to lovely tea room, pubs ,takeaways and an Indian restaurant. Very much enjoyed and will be be using again.

Disliked Nothing really, a couple of slight improvements like keeping the grass short and when showering some water was going in the standing area making getting dressed a little tricky.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Friendly welcome, clean but basic facilities , but improvements are being made all the time. Lovely village of Loddon, with goid pubs, take aways , and general stores, excellent walking and cycling from the site.

Disliked Surrounding areas adjoining the site need,a good tidy up. These spoil the ambiance and atmosphere of the site.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked What an amazing place! For a simple camp it is extremely comfortable. Washing and toilet facilities are well maintained and cleaned and warm water is plentiful. Upon arriving we were greeted and made to feel extremely welcome. The site also has high powered free WiFi which I managed to connect to (perfect for rainy days) the new management are currently in the process of installing a children's play area which will be brilliant although my 3 boys ( 3,6 and8 years old) had the time of their lives without it. Local amenities are plentiful with a shop 3 pubs and 4 take aways within a 1 minute walk. The new management are making an amazing effort with the site and I can see it becoming extremely popular for next summer. I for 1 will 100% be returning in 2026!

Disliked Only downside which is unavoidable was the wasps. The management put deterrents and traps in place the minute we me toned them and it helped immensely!

Local attractions

One of the major draws in Norfolk is The Broads National Park – and you'll easily be able to explore the waterways from here, perhaps hiring a boat from Loddon Marina or canoes from Beccles (15 minutes' drive). Walks and bike rides are equally rewarding in these landscapes, and there are loads of woodland activities and adventures to throw into the mix at BeWILDerwood Norfolk (half an hour). The coast is just as enticing of course; top spots nearby include Great Yarmouth (25 minutes) for an action-packed day at the beach and amusements, or Winterton-on-Sea (40 minutes) for a quieter wander through the dunes. Heading inland instead, Norwich (25 minutes) has a castle and cathedral, plus lots of indie shops and places to eat. Keeping the kids busy should be a cinch around here, what with the likes of Africa Alive (25 minutes), Pleasurewood Hills Family Theme Park (half an hour) and Pettitts Animal Adventure Park (35 minutes) to visit. For grownup days, try Chet Valley Vineyard (five minutes), Henstead Exotic Gardens (20 minutes) or Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum (20 minutes).
