Liked: Great peaceful place to visit. The pitches are well marked out and at £15 per night this site is great value for the money.
Showers were warm and clean as were the rest of the ablutions.
Sat outside well after dark listening to a couple of Owls trying to out hoot each other which was great to hear.
A lovely little nature walk around the site which is fantastic especially for children.
Excellent communication from Alan before we arrived giving us helpful information on where to head for once we arrived at site.
Thank you for a lovely stay… we will be back again I’m sure.
Disliked: Nothing from us but my wife & I are both Scout Leaders so like and are used to the basic campsites which others may not find to their taste.

Liked: The owners were amazing, upon arrival Allan came out to see us and let us know where all the features of the site are.
The 1886 tea room carriage was cosy and warm and a beautiful example of bringing the past into the present, all food is prepared by haylay and is fantastic.
The woodland walk is peaceful and a lovely walk day or night. It is maintained to a level where it looks natural which as a nature lover I really appreciated.
The pitches are all marked out using natural barriers in the form of longish grass allowing nature to make it there home (listening to the inspects and animals in the grass whilst going to sleep was heavenly)
Local shop and takeaway is a lovely 30 minute walk down the road to parson drove
Shower and toilet block are kept clean and tidy, with constant hot water available and a double socket in the hallway
Disliked: That I couldn't stay any longer than I did because of appointments

Liked: This is a very nice little site, on a farm with some woodland to walk in.
The toilets and showers are very good, hot water and very clean.
It's hard to describe how I feel about the place because for £15 per night it was very good, but the description led me to believe that it was much more than it is.
The woodland walks and tea room are very run down and overgrown, and need some attention, but if they hadn't been mentioned in the description I wouldn't have got my hopes up.
All in all, I'd say it's a nice, basic site, a bit run down but value for money. And the owners were friendly and helpful.

From the manager: Hello Lesley,
Thanks for your review.
The 1.1 mile walk here is definitely here, although un-manicured it’s kept natural for the wildlife that I have encouraged to thrive…and the 1886 Railway Carriage Tea Room is doing very well for it’s age…not many left these days so I am very proud to offer the experience…
All the best
Alan and Hayley

Liked: The site was perfect for a break where you felt close to nature. It was clean and quiet. We managed to book a couple of days where we had the whole site to ourselves. The owners are incredibly helpful and I have to say we were very impressed. Perfect for my grandaughters first experience of camping (no Wi-Fi!) which is just what we needed! The site is surrounded by a beautiful woodland walk where you can collect wood for the campfire.
We would definitely recommend this site if you are looking to escape from the madness of daily living and get back to nature.
Disliked: Not really anything to dislike if you are looking for a relaxing camping site. If I was going to mention anything, it would be that we didn’t get to visit the little carriage cafe on site as its only open on weekends but the owner very kindly said we still could buy some of the items on the menu. Next we plan will be on a weekend 😃
