The site's central space

  • Family-friendly countryside park with fishery and reindeer
  • A 20-minute drive from Worcester; 25 minutes from Great Malvern
  • Seven fishing lakes; café on site for breakfast or lunch; pubs nearby
Picnics with local meats, cheeses and artisan breads? Reindeer, alpacas, goats, chickens and pigs Thelma and Louise as neighbours? Day trips to Worcester and the Malvern Hills? Tick, tick and tick? Then head to The Cob House Countryside Park, a family-run site in rural Worcestershire with a fishery, countryside park, café and resident animals such as reindeer. Pick up a traditional breakfast from the site’s fully licensed café-restaurant The Mayfly and then sort a picnic from the local meats, cheeses and artisan breads that are available in The Cob Shop. Once well-fed, you should be quite ready to take on the number of walking routes that start directly from The Cob House or the hilly climbs and mountain biking trails in the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, half an hour’s drive away. If you’re around during the daytime, there are home-cooked lunches, cakes and afternoon teas available at the café. That's particularly handy if you're getting stuck into your fishing activities… that’s right, the site also has seven coarse fishing lakes (bring your own equipment and try your luck with some rather large carp). The Cob House Countryside Park runs events throughout the year, such as kids’ fun days, fishing lessons, model boat sailing (every Sunday), car boot sales, racing pigeon release, dog shows and fundraising days. As for essential facilities, the site also has a modern toilet and shower block. What about your day trips? Worcester is the closest city 20 minutes’ drive away and has the River Severn, Worcester Cathedral and heaps of interesting shops. Great Malvern, 25 minutes’ drive away, is a characterful town at the foot of the Malvern Hills too. For evening meals, there are several pubs within five minutes' drive of the site.

Liked: We really enjoyed our stay here, plenty to do for the kids, from visiting the animals on site to enjoying the cafe area and watching the kids play at the park. If you like your walks there's a couple of nice trails right from the campsite and even just walking around the fishing lakes on site were nice.
The staff at the cafe were really nice and helpful when asking for advice on the amenities and things to do locally.

Disliked: Not a huge issue but if you are staying on the tent pitching area the toilet and shower facilities are on the caravan pitch side. Which especially if you need the toilet in the night is a bit of a walk.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: We recently stayed at Cob House Country Park in our motorhome and had a fantastic experience. If you’re looking for a peaceful countryside retreat with character and charm, this is a gem worth discovering.

Location & Access:
Set in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside, Cob House is easy to reach, even with a larger motorhome. The approach is straightforward with clear signage and good access. Once on-site, there’s ample space to park and manoeuvre comfortably. It feels wonderfully rural but is only a short drive to Worcester and nearby villages for essentials.

Motorhome Facilities:
The hardstanding pitches are level, well-spaced, and maintained to a good standard. There’s room for an awning, and water and electric hook-ups are available. Facilities are simple but functional. It’s not a full-service touring site, but it offers everything you need in a clean, relaxed setting.

On-site Attractions:
Cob House has a unique charm thanks to its open-access animal enclosures and peaceful grounds. We loved visiting the alpacas, reindeer, goats, chickens, and ducks. It’s ideal for families, but equally enjoyable for adults who just appreciate nature and tranquility. The walking trails and fishing lakes add to the relaxing countryside vibe.

The Mayfly Café, open every day, is a real highlight. The food is excellent – all homemade and generously portioned – and the coffee is top quality. Whether you’re after a hearty breakfast, lunch, or a slice of cake and a cuppa, the café is well worth a visit (or several). Having it right on-site is a real bonus.

Local Pub:
If you fancy a change of scene in the evening, the Mason Arms is a superb country pub just a 15-minute walk from the site. It’s cosy and welcoming with great food, friendly staff, and a solid selection of local beers and ciders. A lovely spot to unwind after a day exploring.

Atmosphere & Setting:
The site has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and the rural setting is genuinely calming. It’s spacious, with plenty of room to enjoy a peaceful stay without feeling crowded. Dog owners will appreciate the open spaces and walking areas – it’s a very pet-friendly place.

Staff & Hospitality:
Everyone we met was warm, helpful, and clearly passionate about the park. Staff are on hand if you need anything and happy to give advice or local recommendations. It has that personal, welcoming feel you don’t always find at larger sites.

Overall:
Cob House Country Park is a refreshing alternative to traditional campsites. It offers a mix of nature, comfort, and charm in a setting that’s both peaceful and engaging. The on-site animals, café, fishing lakes, and nearby pub make it a great base for a short break or a longer stay.

We left feeling recharged and already talking about when we’ll return. Highly recommended for motorhome travellers looking for something a little different, in the best possible way.

Disliked: Not a complaint – just a couple of suggestions:

Having Wi-Fi available throughout the camp (happy to pay a fee for access) would be really useful. Given the location and the challenge of getting a reliable TV signal, it would definitely help.

It would also be great if the café could stay open beyond 4pm to serve drinks, etc. A large TV showing music or sports would make it an even more inviting spot to relax in the evenings.

Liked: All staff were really friendly and helpful. Café onsite was nice and fair price. Fishing was good .Lovely walks and really pretty area to explore.

Disliked: Small shower block (only 3 female showers ) for whole site.Showers didn't stay on for very long which made it tricky when washing and trying to rinse your hair!!!!Unfortunately cafe closes around 4 o'clock, so be prepared with food for the evening if you're not planning to head off site. No mobile signal and WiFi very hit and miss

Liked: Peaceful location with amenities not too far away very friendly staff happy to assist with needs. Clean toilets and showers

Disliked: Only thing I can say that wasn't ideal is that the onside bar and restaurant closes at 5pm during the week and closes at 4pm of a weekend.
And the showers only stay on for about 10 seconds so got to keep hand on but not all bad.

Liked: Halloween break with my 2 girls during half term, in my campervan, they absolutely loved it, the activities the Cob cafe put on kept them entertained as well as the play park and fairy trail. Food was brilliant and great staff. Site was clean, facilities likewise and up to date...which is a welcome, compared to some we've visited. We stayed for 2 nights with a full site, a lovely quiet area with beautiful walks...and a bit of fishing if you fancy it. Will definitely visit again A+++

Disliked: Cafe got busy, but it was half term and it's clearly a very popular place for local residents with kids...not really a dislike but it was the only negative if you fancy super quick service and a bit of quiet

Liked: Absolutely lovely site with animals.

We stayed for 1 night, out of season with our 2 children. Lovely site with fantastic and well-looked after animals.

There are information cards too so you can learn about the animals and their names.

Would stay again!

Liked: The sunset was amazing. Cracking walks and a deeply peaceful feel to this site.

Our pitch was on a bit of a slope, but was clean and well maintained and the hard standing was well received.

The facilities were clean and very well maintained. The cafe was lovely and the shop was well stocked.

Loved the animal walk - clearly well looked after and enjoying life.

The fishing competition was fascinating, we wondered why there were no women competing. The numbers fishing did provide some entertainment.

Disliked: The water wasn’t very hot, not sure if it peaks at different times of the day.

Local attractions

Kicking things off with a good stroll? Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (half an hour’s drive) has options like a town trail, the Teme Valley path, Worcestershire Beacon and the British Camp trek. The Knapp And Papermill Nature Reserve (20 minutes) is not so strenuous, especially if you stop to sniff the wildflowers. It might be that you’re after something that’ll evoke the old times, and English composer Elgar's birthplace The Firs (10 minutes) should get any creative juices flowing. Witley Court and Gardens (15 minutes), a grand manor house, and Brockhampton (20 minutes), an ancient estate, make good spots for a picnic among historic surroundings. If you’re after some lively scenes, Worcester (20 minutes) has a cathedral, museum and a busy high street. There are events and shows year round at the Three Counties Showground (half an hour). Great Malvern (25 minutes) is a characterful spot too, with walks into the hills from the railway station, plus a town trail and regular farmers’ markets.
