  • Adults-only site surrounded by Worcestershire countryside
  • Droitwich Spa 20 minutes’ drive; Worcester 25 minutes
  • Well-behaved dogs welcome; just over a mile from the nearest pub
Located halfway between Worcester and Redditch (25 minutes’ drive to either), Church Meadow Campsite is a small, peaceful site surrounded by arable fields and splendid Worcestershire countryside. ‘Peaceful’ is very much the operative word here – not only because this rural spot is blissfully quiet, with just a soundtrack of wildlife and the occasional neigh from the horses that live nearby, but also because Church Meadow caters exclusively to adults. (Though well-behaved dogs are also welcome.) Well-maintained facilities on site include toilets and showers. The site is in the sleepy village of Dormston, which is home to a pretty, historic church. A carp fishing lake and a traditional pub serving food (including a full English breakfast) are both just over a mile away (a five-minute drive or a 25-minute walk), while other amenities, including spots to pick up groceries, are on hand in nearby Inkberrow (five minutes). This part of the country isn’t short on stunning scenery, whether you fancy jaunts to National Trust properties like Hanbury Hall (15 minutes), the historic town of Droitwich Spa (20 minutes) or heritage villages like Broadway (30 minutes), at the northern end of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Church Meadow is also easy to reach, being just a few miles from the M5.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: A huge flat field to ourselves behind the motorhome area. 2 min walk from the toilet/shower (didn't use the facilities)
Surrounded by trees & bushes - the bird song was delightful - my bird-watching app picked up on birds I'd never heard of before!
Quiet and secluded adult only site. Ben the owner was very friendly and always answered his phone when needed.
Ideal campsite if you want basic, quiet and off grid. If you want entertainment etc go elsewhere and pay the price
Would we return or recommend? Yes we would! Fantastic!
Thank you Ben!!!

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: 16A supply (extra £20 but well worth it IMO)
Quiet site, not much happening on site or locally, loads of NT properties reasonable drive away, we went to 6 over 4 days and Diddy Squat.
Ben was very helpful even though we never ended up meeting him in the end.
Very good EE signal.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked: Peaceful rural setting. Lovely to listen to variety of birds. Well kept grounds around the hardstanding area. Level pitches. Great for stargazing.

Disliked: No defined path to amenities.
No loo roll, no hook to hang your coat in one of the toilets.
Shower curtain could do with a wash or better still, build a better shower facility.

Local attractions

At the White Cottage Garden (five minutes’ drive) every season bring a riot of colour – from spring daffodils and summer peonies, to autumn dahlias and red maple trees. Morton Hall Gardens (10 minutes) include an orchard and a rockery; the grounds are also known for their expansive views over the Vale of Evesham. The pretty historic town of Droitwich Spa (20 minutes) has an open-air lido for summer swims, plus boat trips along the Birmingham Worcester Canal. The Heritage Trail walk starts from the Droitwich Heritage & Information Centre, which houses a museum on the town’s brine streams and salt production. Facing the River Severn, the medieval cathedral in Worcester has a spectacular Gothic vaulted ceiling. Not far from here, the Museum of Royal Worcester illustrates the history of the renowned local porcelain, while paintings (including a Canaletto) and displays about the Worcestershire Regiment fill the Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum.
