  • Dog-friendly site 10 minutes’ walk from riverside Upton upon Severn
  • Malvern Hills five minutes’ drive, and Tewkesbury 15 minutes
  • Waterside pitches with fishing access; restaurants and marina in Upton
Black-and-white houses, a stunning riverside, a packed schedule of festivals and pubs to please fond-of-food punters: that’s a snapshot of Upton upon Severn, a waterside town 10 minutes’ walk away from The Old Allotments in Worcestershire. The USPs for this low-key site are just as pleasing: dog-friendly pitches, plots on the banks of the Severn where guests can fish, and facilities that include toilets and showers, an Elsan point and a washing-up sink. With such a handy location so close to the town, riverside walks or cruising down the river on a hire boat could soon be on the horizon – Upton upon Severn has a busy marina with a bar, restaurant and boat hire. There are supermarkets five minutes’ walk from the site as well as pubs, eateries and takeaways a little further away. Regular events take place at the Three Counties Showground (10 minutes’ drive), and The Old Allotments is also a handy base for exploring the natural beauty of Malvern Hills National Landscape.

Liked: Very clean quiet and well kept site in an ideal location. Pitches are good sizes with plenty of drinking water taps near by.
Only two showers but adequate for the size of the site. Ample toilets for size of site.

Electric grass and earth touring pitch

Liked: Walking distance to a lovely little town, owner of the site and locals were extremely friendly where there is lots of pubs.
Not a lot open Mondays and Tuesdays in the town.
About 5 min walk to a small Morrisons which is a quite pricey but very hand.

Disliked: Only 2 showers in total which I can imagine would be not enough if the site was busy luckily for us it was very quiet so didn’t effect us.

Electric grass and earth touring pitch

Liked: Basic, no frills site. Water, loos, showers and electricity. For me it's all I need. Ground flat and not too big a site. Would definitely return .

Disliked: No point moaning about the road, it's close it's noisy and busy. But it's there and you can't change that .

No lights ON at night at the toilets, no other lights on at the site. They appear to be there but we're not on . A simple light sensor would fix problem for when it's dark .

Electric grass and earth touring pitch

Liked: Nothing not to like, quiet, laid back, pretty site. Short walk in to Upton and a lovely river walk the other way to Hanley Castle, quirky little pub there which we didn’t get to try but we’ll be back and will try it then. Owner Vance was very pleasant and helpful. We’ve booked our next stay. :)

Electric grass and earth touring pitch

Liked: Grassed, clean, level, electric pitches with showers and toilets. Safe quiet site near the river severn with mistletoe trees, stars and views of The Malverns. Riverside walk to the magnificent village of Hanley Castle, Don't miss the pub, Three Kings. Ten minutes walk to Upton upon Severn a bustling pretty village with seaside atmosphere, so many lovely pubs and the best chippy ever. Site is great base for visiting all neighbouring counties and they are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen.
