  • Family and dog-friendly site in an orchard next to the A46
  • A 10-minute drive from Stratford-upon-Avon and 35 mins from Birmingham
  • Convenient location next to the A46
Have a sweet stay at Green Gates Caravan Park, a family-friendly site 10 minutes’ drive from the Warwickshire town of Stratford-upon-Avon (a place with plenty of choice for filling holiday days, including visits to a whole host of Shakespeare-related spots). In a fledgling orchard a 10-minute stroll from the quiet village of Snitterfield, the site is well set up for relaxing rural escapes. It’s also well placed for urban adventures though, as Birmingham city centre is a mere 35 minutes away by car. To further boost your countryside sojourn, the Green Gates team recommend a stroll of about 400 metres along the lane to a farm shop selling artisan food from several producers (the sort of thing that'd be ideal for a picnic or barbie back at base, one might suggest). The shop also has a café and deli, as well as a family play area and animals to see. Amenities include a modern bathroom block, added in 2022, housing several toilets and showers. Please note that Green Gates Caravan Park is next to the A46, so expect some noise from passing traffic during your stay.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: The shower block and pitches were well maintained and the cement block meant to we could move around without any mud and grass getting in the van as there was light rain when we were staying. The hosts were really welcoming and friendly.

Disliked: The only downside is the noise from the road. It wasn’t an issue for us but you can hear it most of the time.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: A well maintained and peaceful site. Well connected to Stratford and Lemington Spa. Staff were very helpful, polite and friendly. Pitches were large and well spaced out. A great location for walking. Look forward to visiting again.

Disliked: Wi-fi could have been better but 4g coverage was sufficient.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Fabulous pitches, absolutely lovely surroundings in an orchard, lovely views too. Very secure with a double gate entrance/exit. I would recommend to a friend but with a mention of the road. Water and electric on pitch.

Disliked: Worst thing was the road noise. No WiFi. There is a WiFi available but we were not able to get any at all during our stay.

Liked: Lovely campsite, clean and organised. Mark explained the workings, a friendly host. A lovely farm shop minutes away, and a decent pub about 20 minutes walk. Only stayed for 1 night but would recommend.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Location was good. Easy to access. Nice, clean facilities. Good sized, level, hardstanding pitches.
Short walk into the village, where you'll find a small store for essentials and a great pub for food.
Cobbs Farm Shop is also next door to the site.

Disliked: A little bit of road noise but it didn't spoil our stay. Internet wasn't great!

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review and we are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. We will pass your comments regarding the pub to them and I am sure they will appreciate it as well. Hope to see you again. Deb and Mark

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Great location, close enough to the nearest town but still feels out of the way. Pitches decently spaced out so you feel you have privacy. Toilet and shower block very clean and modern. Mark and Deb the site owners are very friendly and helpful. The gating system is a great idea with codes to get in and out. Tesco is only about 8 mins down the road and there is a lovely farm shop across the road. Dog friendly

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Good location for getting into Stratford-upon-Avon. The showers although small were wonderful and no push button! Field on site where you can allow your dogs to run free is a bonus. Pitches were nicely spaced between one another and liked the concrete base rather then gravel.

Disliked: The noise - the site does stipulate noise but you are wedged between two main roads and its quite loud. The gates are awful! Having to navigate them and maneuver with a caravan in tow isn't easy- plus your told that if you damage them your liable to be asked to leave. Making them user friendly would be a good idea if theyve had damage happen before?

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Dear Emma
Thank you for your comments and we are pleased that you and your dogs enjoyed the space. Bit at a loss to explain how you experienced problems using the gates. You open 2 gates then drive through and they close behind you. There isn't any maneuvering apart from driving forward. The damage is caused when people try and open the gates from their vehicle, despite being asked not to. Maybe this is what you tried to do? Apologies again for finding the gates awful.

Local attractions

The site is well placed for historical urban adventures. As well as handy proximity to Stratford-upon-Avon, the site’s just 10 minutes’ drive from Warwick, where sauntering around gardens, expanding knowledge in museums, and – at Warwick Castle – exploring haunted dungeons and watching jousts are just a handful of the things to do. Take a more stately wander through history at Charlecote Park, Kenilworth Castle, Ragley Hall, Coughton Court, Packwood House and Upton House, all within 25 minutes of base, or stick to towns with a past – it’s 15 minutes to Leamington Spa and its museums, art gallery, formal gardens and Royal Pump Rooms. Not that interested in all things old? Stick to fresh air pursuits instead: it’s a 15-minute walk (about one mile) to Arden Lakes, where carp, bream, perch and roach can be fished, and there are three golf courses within five minutes’ drive. Outdoorsy types can make tracks to the Cotswolds (about 20 minutes away) or opt for a visit to Kingsbury Water Park (35 minutes) for fishing, boating, birdwatching, biking and walking all in one spot. Those who can’t turn their backs on that big city life should turn tyres towards Birmingham, 35 minutes away. The sprawling city has lots to entertain the whole family, from top-class shopping to self-guided tours at Cadbury World (yes, that Cadbury).
