Up for theme park thrills? New Broom Camping and Caravan Site is 10 minutes' drive away from Alton Towers – and has a comfy number of amenities to have you sorted on site too. Set in two peaceful acres with flat grass pitches, the park has a traditional pub (which is both large and family-friendly) with a family restaurant. There's also a big beer garden with a play area. And it's all in the small Staffordshire village of Checkley, a short drive away from Uttoxeter Racecourse and The Potteries as well as Alton Towers. The pub serves decently priced drinks and meals including carvery, cooked breakfasts and pizza (pizza is available for takeaway too). It's got a pool table for evenings of friendly competition, and hosts regular events such as rock nights, tribute nights and darts nights. New Broom also has a toilet/shower facility that guests can use free of charge, 24 hours a day.

Liked Flat gravel pitch grass recently cut showers and toilets looked tired from the outside but clean and tidy inside free shower

Disliked Grass could've been picked up as recent rain meant you kept tracking it in on shoes.

Pub Car Park non-electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked It was all I needed and very good value at £18 per night - which is why I'm giving it a good star rating.
While my van is self sufficient - it's still good to use a proper toilet and have a nice warm shower. The heated toilet block offered both with separate facilities for male and female.
There was some traffic noise but it didn't disturb me and was otherwise lovely and quiet.
It was nice and handy 15 mins drive for getting to training centre in Stoke-on-Trent - which was purpose of my stay. I wouldn't really have wanted to stay here as a base for a holiday visit.
Pub was warm, friendly and welcoming although I didn't eat there there was a good menu.

Disliked The only thing that might have made it better was WiFi range that reached the van. I ended doing work I needed on my phone rather than laptop with hotspot. Free WiFi was available inside the pub

Liked The site is very well looked after. Toilets heated.
So peaceful, plenty of birds around.
John is a wonderful host & the staff are always happy to help. Food is amazing, home made & the breakfasts are perfect.

Non-electric grass campervan or tent pitch

Liked Food was outstanding in the pub.

Disliked Just the road noise but we were given ear plugs. WiFi didn’t seem to work in the camping area

Liked This is our 2nd stay. Everything's so easy, with lovely friendly staff, quite small sized site with great facilities and an amazing pub. Just a short drive from the Peak District for a good walk and explore.

Liked Motor home pitch was a good size and a flat surface . Didn't use the pub but if we come again we will as the reviews for the food were all positive .

Disliked A lot of road noise which did impact on my sleep but would bring earplugs next time .
