Liked Had a lovely couple of nights at Rue hill very well organised with everything you could need .Clean showers and toilet block with nice hot showers, Nice friendly owners who gave some great advice on where to eat etc in the local areas shall return next year thank you ps (great roads for motorcyclists on the doorstep)(

Liked Really nice campsite. Lots of space and facilities were really looked after. Lady who runs the campsite was very knowledgeable of the area and came to check I was okay which was great as a solo camper. Loved the separate adult only field
Disliked Not the campsite fault but phone signal was really bad in the area for my network

Liked The site is big with good facilities including toilets, washbasins, excellent free showers, phone charging points, washing-up facilities and fresh water supplies, all located in the middle of the site. Firepits with logs, kindling and paper are available for a very reasonable £10 and there are numerous gravelled circled areas around the site where the pits can be sited. The site is one very large field split into family and adult areas. The pitches are available around the edge of the fields with the central areas for children's play etc. It is enormous so there is no chance of overcrowding. The owners are friendly and very helpful. They provide maps for nearby places such as sops, pubs and recreational / tourist facilities
Disliked Some of the pitches are on a slope so depending where you are put you may have to cope with some gentle slopes. There is no shop on site so make sure you have food and general provisions before arriving. It should also be noted that phone reception can be very poor depending which network you are on. EE seems to be OK but Vodafone reception is non-existent. There is no wifi but this is to be expected as this is a campsite.

10 minutes to Alton Towers which is why we chose it and also only 10 minutes to large shops in Ashbourne - Aldi, Mountain Warehouse and others.
Helpful and friendly owners.

Liked Large site, great location close to Ilam & Dovedale where I did 2 days of walks.
Hosts very welcoming & friendly, toilet block kept very clean & plenty of toilet roll made available, excellent hot showers, they even have low music playing in the building. Washing up area outside under tin roof, hot water available. Excellent value for money. Would definitely return again
Disliked It would be very helpful to have shower screen/curtain in the shower cubicles to separate personal items away from shower spray, along with a few hooks to hang clothing & shelving to put toiletries etc, same goes for the wash basins, would be very helpful to have shelving & hooks, apart from those I was happy with toilet block.
