  • Peaceful site on the edge of the Shropshire Hills National Landscape
  • Bridgnorth 10 minutes' drive away; 25 minutes to Ironbridge
  • Shared firepit and outdoor kitchen on site; seasonal veg for sale
Settle here in the Shropshire Hills National Landscape and you’ll be in for a proper rural escape – Corvedale Camping is a peaceful four-acre site with a wildlife pond, bird nesting boxes and natural space set aside as hunting territory for barn owls. In fact, the owners say, pretty much the only noise you’ll hear by night is likely to be the calls of the owls. And it’s not just wildlife that feels at ease at this site – human guests are likely to find it a lovely place to relax too, with big skies bringing some excellent sunrises, sunsets and stargazing opportunities. Bring your dog, bring your kids, or just come along for a solo break – you may well strike up a chat over at the shared firepit and outdoor kitchen area. There’s usually organic seasonal veg for sale on site, and there’s a farm shop about a 20-minute walk away (or a couple of minutes’ drive) for more local produce and fireside snacks. As secluded as this site feels, it’s not far from a couple of Shropshire’s popular market towns – Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock are about 10 minutes’ drive away, and Ludlow about 20 minutes. Between them they’ve got plenty to offer in terms of shops, places to eat and other amenities. As well as the cooking area, the site’s other facilities include a washing-up area, showers and a choice of plumbed or compost toilets. This site operates as a Greener Camping Club members-only campsite – if you’re not a member already your booking will include the membership fee, which gives you a year’s worth of access to club sites (all of which have an eco-friendly approach).
