What customers say

This is a highly-rated, adult-only site praised for its stunning views of Rutland Water and spacious, private pitches bordered by hedges. Visitors frequently mention the friendly and helpful owners, clean and functional facilities, and tranquil atmosphere. While most found the experience excellent, a few noted minor issues with sloping pitches, basic shower facilities, and occasional noise disturbances. The location is considered ideal for walking and cycling.

Non-electric grass tent or campervan pitch

Liked A great site with wonderful views over the lake and easy access to the cycle path. A short drive away from Oakham which has plenty of restaurants and shops. Loved the private and quiet nature of the site. We would definitely come here again for a weekend.

Non-electric grass tent or campervan pitch

Liked Brilliant (RTT- friendly) site with lovely owners making our stay a wonderful time.
This is a small and very well-maintained site with the pitches overlooking the lake. Pitches are separated by hedges giving you privacy.
Simple ramps could almost fully balance a slight slope so we enjoyed our stay in and view from our roof top tent to the max.
We had a great time exploring the lake and the area and we are certainly coming back for more.

Non-electric grass tent or campervan pitch

Liked The site is in an excellent location with amazing views over the water and having separate pitches gave us extra privacy and space which was a treat.

Disliked The pitches are on a slope which is why you have the good views. We were fortunate to find one that had a level area for the tent but the ground was very lumpy underfoot. The facilities available were decent and clean but overall for the money a bit lacking in the extras especially if you're there for more than a couple of nights.

Non-electric grass tent or campervan pitch

Liked Large spacious pitches with mature hedging with cracking views of Rutland Water. Nice and quiet adult only site. Great location easy to get everywhere. Lovely nursery and cafe a short walk up the hill. Always had hot water when showering and washing up.

Disliked Showers were basic and quite a walk from the pitches. Didn't like separate locks on inside and outside and potential for someone to lock you in. Would have liked a modesty shower curtain as quite big gaps in door. No pegs/shelving in one of the showers so everything got wet. Decking outside was very slippery when wet.

No cover over outside washing up area.

No ability to recycle cans, plastic, paper.
