  • Quiet site surrounded by woodlands in the Chilterns National Landscape
  • Near hiking and cycling paths; a 20-minute drive from Henley-on-Thames
  • Flat, well-maintained field two minutes’ walk from the village pub
As the name so kindly suggests, you won’t be quick to forget about a getaway at Forget Me Not Farm. Surrounded by woodlands in the Chilterns National Landscape, this site is in an excellent spot for pedalling down lush green bridleways or following footpaths into woodlands with deer, kites, buzzards and other wildlife. If your preferred method of hiking is to end the outing in a local beer garden, then it should also be music to your ears that Forget Me Not Farm is a couple minutes' walk from a Cotswolds-stone pub with a splendid beer garden. For the days when you’re not in hiking mode, take the quick 20-minute drive to Henley-on-Thames for a picnic or boat ride – and if you’ve got your bicycles in tow, take off onto the 26-mile Henley Loop through the Stonor Valley. Oxford's huge libraries and historical buildings are also a 40-minute drive away. The dog-friendly field at Forget Me Not Farm is flat, well-maintained and peaceful, with basic facilities such as a toilet and shower. It's just a 10-minute drive from the M40, making getting out and about easy as can be, and it's also just a short walk from the annual Beacon Festival site.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: We choose to camp here to test the roof tent out, we only come from Milton Keynes and this was one of the campsites that allows you to park by pitch, I did a quick video on YouTube to show what the campsite is like. It's a basic campsite but very clean and well organised.

Disliked: When everyone went to bed you could hear thumping music coming from another farm near to the campsite, I'm not sure if this happens each night but it goes on into the early hours of the morning, I am presuming it was to keep the wild birds like Pheasants quiet, because the music sounded like it was on repeat.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: This place has benefitted of very quiet grass field that being rather level and is nice place to set up your camp.

Disliked: Toilet facility is a setup of transferrable toilet booth x 2 without sink for hands wash. Nearest sink is at a shower shed of which is the only shower at the site. You won't be able to go to the shower or to wash your hands when ever you desire so. Site would benefit for an additional sink at toilets aswell.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked: We had a lovely stay despite the British inclement weather. Camping was in a spacious level well kept field. It felt very secure, as the gate was locked. Our party had our privacy and we weren’t disturbed by any other guests, except if we wanted to be. The shower was in a shed, which was nicely decorated, warm and clean. The portaloo was clean. The owner was lovely, warm friendly and welcoming.

Disliked: There was nowhere to wash dishes, so some campers took to using the sink in the shower, where they then left small food scraps.
Portaloos as they’re unpleasant despite best efforts.
No raised fires allowed for making smoores.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked: We liked Forget Me Not Farm as it was very basic with nice clean toilets and a shower facility. Great Value for money and very quiet and close to lots of nice walks and pubs.

Disliked: The only thing I would suggest would be to number the pitches as on our last night a campervan parked so close to us I felt they were invading our space, and it may have helped to have a numbered spike with a pitch number just to show enough room for each pitch.

Liked: Lovely quiet location within easy reach of local attractions. The host was fantastic and the facilities were kept spotlessly clean the whole time. Wish nothing but success to the host for her campsite and recommend Forget Me Not Farm 100%

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked: A very beautiful site deep in the Oxfordshire country side, lots of wildlife and scenery to see. The site owner is very friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The field is large and surrounded by trees with lots of flat areas great for camping.

The facilities are basic but provide everything you need.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: We had a fantastic camping trip! Although we arrived an hour later than planned, our wonderful host greeted us with a warm smile and guided us through the impressive facilities. We were delighted to find a spotless, well-maintained toilet and were pleasantly surprised by the availability of shower facilities and two fresh drinking water points. The cleanliness of the amenities was evident, as they were consistently tended to throughout the day. Our fellow campers were just as thoughtful, ensuring that everyone left the area tidy.
The camping pitches were spacious and beautifully mown, providing the perfect setting for our stay. We intentionally chose a site without electrical hookups, which allowed us to fully embrace the natural surroundings. Nestled in a picturesque conservation area, we enjoyed spotting sheep and horses grazing nearby, and we were thrilled to see a variety of magnificent Red Kites and other birds of prey during our peaceful walks in the forest.
To top it all off, there’s a charming 500-year-old pub just a two-minute stroll away, serving absolutely delicious food. We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay and can’t wait to return for another adventure!

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Large level site with plenty of space per pitch. Good location for the M40, shops a short drive away and a decent pub in easy walking distance. Sandra is very helpful and friendly. The shower room is great, one of the best facilities we have seen in years of camping.

Disliked: Single portaloo got whiffy in the heat...but it does your job.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Quiet site, it's just a field - fine for a one night stay.

Disliked: Only one portaloo on site, got very smelly. A homemade shower in a hut, and a couple of cold water taps.
Owner keeps gate locked at entrance, not sure why?

From the manager: Hi 👋
I'm so sorry and quite upset you didn't enjoy your stay here. I can't dispute your complaint about the toilet as I'm very new to camping and probably can learn that maybe I need two toilets so i want to thank you for pointing that out. It's very much a learning curve for me at the moment. However no one ever complains about the venue or my customer service so would love some feedback on how I can improve that from your point of view? Also the shower!!you are the only people ever to complain about the shower. Most people say it's better than the one they have at home. Please tell me where I've gone wrong with it's construction, as far from making a quick buck I actually spent over £3,000 putting in the shower which at end of camping will have to be dismantled. I feel you may well have been put up to supplying this review to cause damage. If however you were that disgruntled with your stay, I'm more than happy to refund your £17 for a whole night's camping, including use of the just using a field which I had to purchase, the home made shower, I paid nearly £3000 to install and the smelly toilet that Euroloos charge me £260 pm for, the money it costs me to get rid of the rubbish. Yes I'm making a fortune. J

Local attractions

A light warm-up stroll, perhaps? The chalk grasslands and woodlands of the National Trust’s Watlington Hill are just 10 minutes’ walk away from the field. There are lengthier walks in the Chilterns and also at the many historic country homes scattered around the immediate countryside. Some of these tempting trails lay in waiting at Stonor House (15 minutes' drive); stroll around the medieval buildings before stopping off in the 12th-century Stonor Pantry café for lunch or a snack. If you're keen on the idea of visiting a National Trust site, local picks include Cliveden (25 minutes) and Hughenden (25 minutes). The latter has Victorian pleasure grounds and a whopping 600 acres of land. For more historic spots once frequented by high society, try Waddesdon Manor (40 minutes) – home to Victorian gardens and a Rococo-style aviary – or West Wycombe Park (15 minutes). Blenheim Palace (40 minutes) also hosts events such as a food festival, flower show and horse trials. In Marlow (20 minutes), there are gorgeous eateries along the river Thames, and in Watlington (five minutes) a set of pretty Georgian buildings, pubs and independent shops. And you may very well have heard of these two spots: Windsor Castle (35 minutes) has been home to 40 monarchs in its lifetime, whereas Ascot Racecourse (40 minutes) hosts famed horse racing events.
