Liked: Large pitches, beautiful views, lovely walks nearby, helpful friendly staff and super clean services. Also loved the back to basics camping and the fact we could have a controlled campfire in the evening. One of the best little sites I've had the pleasure of staying on in 20 years of camping 👍👌

Liked: This was my first foray into cycle camping. It'd been 25 years since I last camped. When this was as a family, and was over many years and numerous camp site around the UK.
Castle Farm Campsite I would rate at the top of my favourites. The simplicity and basic nature of the site was refreshing. To be met by Kaz and her partner who were very welcoming, friendly and informative. There are no plots set out. Simple etiquette rules to follow. I found a nice pitch near the river.
What added to the experience was the wind and rain overnight. I loved it. I was there to test out my new gear. Which didn't fail me
The location adds to the experience. The history and beauty. I shall be returning.
Disliked: I was only able to stay the one night.

Liked: Beautiful campsite and location by the river, with amazing history right there. It feels utterly unspoilt. We booked because of an interest in Mary Queen of Scots and the Plantagenets. It’s cool to have such history right there.
Disliked: We had booked and paid via pitch up but when we arrived they weren’t expecting us, and the campsite had officially closed the week before. Luckily we were allowed to stay but they had already removed toilet facilities, which wasn’t ideal and we were glad of the 24 hour Esso a five min drive away just in case. So we recommend confirming bookings directly with the campsite if late in season, rather than trusting the reliability of the availability dates on pitch up. We did still have a lovely time, but we are both fairly chilled people. Others may have really struggled or had to cancel their holiday.

From the manager: Thanks for being so reasonable and sorry for the mix-up! Hope to see you again next season.

Liked: On arrival I was met by the lovely Kaz who told me about the site and then pointed me in the direction of the most magical spot overlooking the River Nene.
Two portaloos were in the same field. The cleanest and nicest smelling portaloos I've ever encountered.
The site was incredibly peaceful. I came to sit and relax but other, more adventurous souls were paddle boarding and fishing.
The stars at night were beautiful as very little light pollution.
Disliked: Going home!

Disliked: The so called manager who approached us (drunk). Put her light in my face. For no obvious reason she
Started shouting to send us all to bed. We were not having loud conversation or loud music.
Also when I apologised for any inconvenience she said I am being rude and threatened us saying that we will never step foot on that camping spot again. We stayed 07/09/24-08/09/24
