  • Dog-friendly hardstanding pitches in the open Lincolnshire countryside
  • A 35-minute drive from Hull and Cleethorpes; hiking and biking nearby
  • Fishing pond, brew-making facilities and a communal summerhouse
Calling all folk who like their countryside saunters, peaceful fishing and bike rides down country lanes… families, pets and the lot are welcome at Woodside Caravan Park in the Lincolnshire countryside. Come, relax, fish and take in the countryside from the quiet hardstanding pitches on this site in a small rural village. Among its attractions are a small pleasure fishing pond and a small play area with a slide, swing set and playhouse for little kids to let off steam. Where exactly is this peaceful patch? It’s in Bonby village, surrounded by the open countryside (yes, you’re hearing right, hiking and cycling fans - you’ll be primed for scouting out long cycle routes and countryside dog walks nearby). It’s also 10 miles from Brigg and Barton-upon-Humber, two towns that have a healthy dose of shops, pubs and takeaways, plus regular farmers’ markets. Historic Hull is also 35 minutes’ drive away for activities like horse riding, kayaking, climbing and swimming, the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty starts 25 minutes’ drive away. As you roll up to Woodside Caravan Park, look out for the animals in their separate fenced paddocks. These include Highland cows, red Limousin cows and a highly entertaining (and nosey) goat named Billy. There are chickens too – when they feel like laying, expect fresh eggs available during your stay. Fishing is free of cost during your time here, but if you’d rather relax pondside and take in the views, that’s just as peaceful. The site has a summerhouse if you fancy a natter with other guests, exchanging books or DVDs or using the brew-making facilities. All the grounds and facilities are well-maintained, including the separate ladies’ and gents’ toilets. The pitches all come with a water tap.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: There really is nothing that could be improved. The whole site was fabulous, spotless, and unbelievably well thought out. And if like a clean toilet and shower then you’ve found your little slice of heaven!

The owners dad is the caretaker, and he couldn’t have been nicer. All in all, perfect.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: Peaceful little site, showers/toilets immaculate. Animals lovely and well looked after. Fab idea of the summer house for everyone to use with TV and refreshments available free.

Disliked: It was made clear very quickly that this site is extremely clicky and we was made aware of this as it was our 1st visit to the site, people come back all the time and book the different pitches of there preference even we're you can set up to fish on the lake, a different person would say Oh you cannot fish there Pitch....... sits there!. Also my husband smokes so when fishing he puts the ends of his cigarettes in his pocket, so when having a pee he emptied his pocket into one of bins, when we returned home we saw a post on Facebook saying someone had been smoking in the toilets as cigarette ends were found! My husband rang straight up to apologise for using the bin and to say that he was not smoking in the toilets!! Nothing for children.

From the manager: Hi thankyou for taking the time to review your visit .We do have lots of repeat customers and pride ourself on this .Majority of customers all state how friendly the site is for everyone .There is no set allocation for where pitches can fish ,you can choose anywhere you would like to round the pond .We can not be held responsible for what customers say to each other and we all ways state when asked you can choose where to fish . We are more than approachable and my dad lives on site and would of advised same and if need be sorted for you if we had been made aware .The post on our group was to state cigarette buts had been found in the toilet bins which I feel is unacceptable as there are outside bins ,it did make me think someone had been smoking in there as I’m sure anyone would and was alarmed as could cause /lead to a fire as I explained when the gentleman rang .

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: Stayed 4/4/25 for 3 night. Large spacious pitches, with electric and water close by, toilet and shower block absolutely spotless, use of summer house with hot drinks provided along with a microwave, tv and cd player/radio and comfy sofa, plus fishing included in price and well stocked, father who runs site very helpful and welcoming, and loads of different animals including highland cows which we travelled all the way round Scotland and only spotted one from a distance and theres one 20 mins from our house, lol. Highly recommend and we've already booked to go back.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: Owners were very friendly, site is immaculate, very clean. We had ehu and water point, there are bins and toilet waste disposal, didn't use as we used the onsite toilets. The toilet/shower block brand new and obviously clean and spotless, well lit at night and heated. The block is cleaned once a day. The animals that are there are quiet and we loved the fact it's located in a village, with not much traffic, plenty of places to walk the dogs. Not sure about WiFi as we have a router. 8
Absolutely recommend.

Local attractions

A round of the local golf course to kickstart your Lincolnshire break? Elsham Golf Club (five minutes’ drive) has been around since 1900 and has 18 holes. Hull (35 minutes) is just as historic: there’s the Streetlife Museum with old trams, cars and carriages, as well as the Hull Maritime Museum. The Deep (half an hour) aquarium is another fine entertainment option with jellyfish, stingrays and sharks. If that has you wanting more of the water (but no more sharks, please and thank you), make your way to Cleethorpes (35 minutes) for paddleboarding and kayaking. Waters' Edge Country Park & Visitor Centre (15 minutes) has some sublime river views and dog-friendly walks, as well as a viewing port over the bridge. Perhaps you want something that will get your heart rate up even more – and what a wild setting the Regency mansion at Normanby Hall Country Park (20 minutes) is for a Go Ape treetop course.
