  • A 20-minute drive to Peckover House or Baytree Owl and Wildlife Centre
  • Three fishing lakes on site, suitable for all angling abilities
A view? Well, yes indeed – the accommodation is just part of the offering at North View Lodges, because this Lincolnshire site also has three lovely fishing lakes to provide a pretty backdrop to your glamping stay. There are two main ways to soak up those views. The first of these is to hang out on the deck of your lodge, which has been provided with outdoor furniture so you can gaze out over the lake in comfort. Each lodge also has a kitchen (with cooker, microwave, fridge and kettle) and a gas barbecue so you can sort yourself some snacks/meals/drinks to keep you going while you relax in the fresh air (there’s a good local supermarket 10 minutes’ walk away for all the supplies). The other option, of course, is to get down to the lakes for some fishing. Lots of varieties are up for grabs (carp, bream and catfish among them) and all levels are catered for, from complete beginners to experienced anglers – you’ll just need to make sure you’ve got the right licence, and follow the catch-and return policy. When you’re not fishing (or in fact, if you don’t want to fish at all) you can fill your time with golf, riding lessons and birdwatching, or pay visits to a bunch of smart stately homes. Peterborough, Spalding and Wisbech are all close by for town wanders and shopping too. Back at your lodge you’ll also have plenty of space to relax – each one has a spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area with a TV and sofa, and beds are made up for your arrival so you can flop into bed whenever you’re ready.

Woodpecker 1 bedroom lodge (four person, no pets)

Liked: The whole experience at north view lodges was absolutely fantastic, the accommodation was exceptionally clean, tidy and about twice the size I was expecting. The private parking was immaculately maintained as was were the grounds in general. I personally enjoy fishing and this place was the best lake I've ever fished,it's the first time in quite a while (and I go for weekends away very often)that i was genuinely saddened to be going home but hopefully I will be returning in the next few weeks, all in all a superb place to stay.

Disliked: Not so much a dislike, but with my phone I couldn't get a mobile Internet connection (not actually a bad thing, more time to fish)

Heron 2 bedroom lodge (no pets)

Liked: Great lodge overlooking the pleasure lake lovely area and nice and peaceful. Made our stay enjoyable and will return again. Graham the bailiff is a credit to the business very knowledgeable person about the site and things we would like answers to. We also did some fishing on both the pleasure and specimen lake graham was very helpful.at all times.

Disliked: Lodge could do with a information pack espically knowing the fob on the keys is access to the gate. Also owners need to keep customers informed of what they need to do on arrival as not easy when it's your first time visiting

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thankyou for taking the time to leave a review and we're so pleased that you had a lovely time. Yes Graham is a very valued member of the team here at North View and we appreciate how helpful he is to guests.
Sorry about the lack of communication regarding the fob. I do try to put all this in an email but must of forgotten. I am going to sort out some information packs to put in the lodges which will be helpful regarding this.
Thankyou again.

Liked: We loved everything about our stay. The lodge itself is beautiful situated on a popular fishing lake. We came with our 10 year old twin boys and they didn't even want to come home. It was just a perfect break for us all. Can't wait to book again.

Heron 2 bedroom lodge (no pets)

Liked: We had an amazing stay at this cosy lodge and enjoyed every moment. My son especially loved the Match lake, where he caught around 10 carps in one session, all of impressive size. Everything was perfectly prepared for us in the cabin house, which was super clean. Claire was such a nice person and kindly lent us a cradle for fishing. It's incredibly quiet here, making it the best place we've ever been for fishing. We will definitely be coming back!

Agata

Mallard 2 bedroom lodge (pet friendly)

Liked: Accomodation was immaculate could not fault. Very friendly staff and also other people fishing there too My partner had a few good catches, even my 4 yr old managed to catch a few. We are about to re-book for August.

Disliked: The bbq outside the grill plates were dirty, so had be cleaned and then we found there was no gas left in the bottle. Wasn't a big issue as we just cooked eveything inside and it didn't impact on our stay. The site caters for children in regards to accomodation it would be brilliant if a small park could be added somewhere away from the lakes for when they get bored. Also an onsite cafe would be a great idea too.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thankyou so much for your feedback. Sorry to hear the bbq wasn't clean I will make sure in future that this is addressed. The idea of a small play area for young children is something we are considering in the future as well as a cafe for holidaymakers to use.
There is a small cafe/coffee shop further along North Road which is open Wednesday to Saturday 10 till 4. It's called The Pantry and is definitely worth a visit if you come again.
They also do some activities for children there too.
