Overlooking the lake

  • Peaceful and family-run in 14 acres of scenic Lincolnshire countryside
  • Immaculately-maintained grounds, 10 minutes' drive from Skegness
  • Two fishing lakes, play area and shop with groceries and fishing kit
Serious seekers of serenity, get sorted at Sycamore Farm Park. This is a properly peaceful place, deep in the lovely Lincolnshire countryside (but only 10 minutes' drive from Skegness for those who also seek seaside). Even looking at the site pics should make you feel rightly relaxed… Sycamore Farm is on 14 acres of grounds all immaculately maintained by the professional team, and has two sincerely scenic fishing lakes, brimming with carp, roach, rudd and tench for you to try your hand landing. The essentials are covered at the (also immaculate) amenities: a toilet and shower block close to the pitching field with floor to ceiling tiles and underfloor heating; disabled facilities, washing-up area, drying room and launderette (there's a play area for kids while you're busy with the chores). The shop on site has a whopping range of fishing kit and dynamite baits, as well as groceries, cleaning products and household essentials. Need some help while on your hol? Ask the on-site maintenance team or any other member of staff: the Sycamore Farm Park team members make it their mission to make sure that guests feel welcome and have a resolutely relaxing time – that should sound seriously serene to you as well…

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked: Site was well set out , toilet block was warm and had everything you need .All grass was really wet due to the sheer amount of rain we have had recently but not much the site can do about that , we'll done for keeping the grass looking it's best.

Disliked: Pitch size was quite small compared to what we have been on before for a service pitch, bin store did smell a little and not warm weather yet quite a few people have writtenthe same in previous reviews, there was quite a bit of little around the pitch in the hedge , the light post was very dirty from bird poo so could do with a quick wash in between guests.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: I liked the calmness of the park and the fishing pools available. The staff in the shop was most helpful and lovely to talk to.

Toilets and showers are clean inside.
Shop has variety of things to buy.
Fishing pools with different size fish.

Disliked: The shower rooms can be dangerous due to water seeping under the door as the drains did not drain well causing slippery surface. The lights in there was motion sensors so if in for a long period the sensor does not detect motion therefore you have to shower in the dark or poo.
The smell by the bins and shower block was unbearable. Washing machines and dryer are expensive especially with young children.

People who own their own caravan can be rude, walking round with a large dog intimidating other dogs - due to this being a close community between caravans it made it uncomfortable to walk around site.

With young children there was no designated area for ball games or fun other than a tiny park located by the showers and bins with the smell. Therefore had to travel out everyday to entertain children.

Wasps was over running the awning when open due to wasp nest behind caravan in bushes. The lady in the shop did supply fly and wasp spray although did not work.

The roads to the park are uneven with a lot of potholes causing rocking of caravan if I had not got a 4x4 then car would have scrapped.

Wi-Fi was intermittent depending were u was.

Local attractions

This is a lovely part of green and pleasant England, with splendid strolls and hikes in the surrounding countryside, and many more along the gorgeous Lincolnshire coastline a few miles away. The sand dunes and salt marsh of the Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve are 20 minutes' drive from Sycamore Farm Park, from the south of Skegness to the mouth of The Wash. This is a first-rate reserve for birdwatching and wildlife walks; look out for terns, plovers and oystercatchers along its trails and in the bird observatory. Sycamore Farm Park is also 10 minutes rom Lincolnshire's main seaside towns of Skegness and Ingoldmells, both with plenty to do after a morning spent strolling on the sands. At Skegness, sightseers and activity seekers can see the seals and other inhabitants at Natureland Seal Sanctuary, bob about on the boating lake, whirl around Skegness Pleasure Beach or just wander around town to source some souvenirs. The Embassy Theatre on Grand Parade puts on regular shows, concerts, pantos and comedy nights alongside one-off events like circus workshops and roller disco. At Ingoldmells, make theme park Fantasy Island your first stop for a right hair-raising time – stagger off to the huge indoor market afterwards to calm down, or have a tipple at one of the town's many pubs.
