  • Peaceful, friendly site on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB
  • A 30-minute drive to Lincoln and 50 minutes to the coast
  • Adults-only site with dogs and horses welcome
Far from being a flat landscape, the chalk hills and sandstone peaks of the Lincolnshire Wolds are the highest ground between Yorkshire and Kent. And if you'd like to explore thoroughly, Lindsey Trail Touring Park is a well-placed adults-only base from which to discover this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with routes for cyclists and walkers minutes from the site. The site takes its name from the Lindsey Trail, a 69-mile circuit crossing the main road a few minutes beyond the golf course. Visitors can hike, bike or horse-ride their way through Lincolnshire's medieval villages and ancient woods, taking in highlights like Dog Kennel Wood, carpeted with bluebells in the spring, and Somersby, birthplace of Tennyson. Supplies are easily sorted five minutes' drive away in Market Rasen, where there are shops to stock up in, pubs and restaurants to refuel in, and weekly markets that have been a feature of town life since Domesday times. Back at base, guests should keep eyes peeled to see sheep grazing in surrounding fields and for birds and other wildlife on site; dogs are likely to be pretty chuffed too at the wooded walking area for canine visitors. Horses and their boxes can also be brought onto the site; handy with the racecourse a minute's drive (or gallop) away…

Liked: Lovely and quiet with excellent facilities including a dog walking field. Ian couldn't have been more helpful, recommended various places to eat and drink and allowed us extra time to stay and burn some energy off the dogs.

Disliked: Nothing at all.

Electric optional gravel touring pitch

Liked: The site is extremely well maintained and the bathroom facilities are clean and functional the showers are set a nice comfortable temperature (no push button shower here ). The site is set in the countryside with the town just over a mile away with all the usual amenities. It is also a stones throw from the Market Rasen horse racing course. Ian gave us a nice warm friendly welcome and is always available to help. The Motorhome service point drain is located at the bottom of the site and the pitches have a metered electric and water available. This is one of a few good sites I would return to with out hesitation

Disliked: Nothing to dislike.

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked: Such a peaceful and well kept site. Ian is helpful, friendly and personable, you can tell he puts heart and soul into the site.
The toilets and showers are immaculate, the washing up room is too (there is a fridge, kettle information point and book exchange in there too).
I loved that it was so quiet at night, everyone respected the quiet hours and the nearby road is a very quiet country road, didn't hear a thing from it.

Disliked: Absolutely nothing, couldn't fault it.

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked: Quiet small campsite with about 20 pitches in total.
Right next to the Golf Club which serves hot food and drinks.
Immaculate facilities - separate male/female facilities with clean toilets/sinks and lovely hot shower. Shower stays on and is constant temperature which was ideal.
Around a 30min walk into Market Rasen, ideal for catching train to other locations.
Ian, the site owner, is great. Friendly, approachable and easy going.
Chickens/turkeys in the grounds, lovely to listen to in a morning.
Would 1000% return!!

Local attractions

A popular family destination is Wild Pines Park, a minute’s drive away, with zipwires and rope walks up high, archery and playgrounds on the forest floor. To see an even wilder side, people head to Woodside Wildlife Park (10 minutes), a hands-on zoo experience with tigers, white wolves and sloths. History lies thick on the ground in Lincoln (30 minutes), with its 11th-century castle, 12th-century cathedral and ancient winding street quarter called Steep Hill (they’re not joking). Doddington Hall (40 minutes) was built in 1600 and has stayed in the same family ever since; a Tudor house and home that’s bursting with treasures. International Bomber Command (35 minutes) commemorates the part Lincolnshire’s people and airfields played in World War Two. Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre (40 minutes) pays tribute to the local industry; naturally enough, it's a popular stop for fish and chips too... Wild dunes and broad beaches are within easy reach as well, as Skegness and quieter Mablethorpe are 50 minutes away.
