  • Two miles from the beach at Mablethorpe
  • Golf course, aqua park, bar and restaurant on a 170-acre site
  • Several fishing lakes plus tackle shop
Aaaarrrr! Guests of all sizes will find stacks to do at good-looking and quiet Grange Leisure Park two miles from Mablethorpe, like packing the kids off to scale the heady heights of the adventure playground's pirate ship while the grownups concern themselves with the serious matters of casting or teeing off… Casting off is at the park's six scenic fishing lakes filled with good-sized carp, roach, bream, perch and a few more scaly species (if you haven't brought your gear, the basics are for sale in the site tackle shop). For teeing off, Grange has a nine-hole golf course; day tickets are available at reception where you can also hire clubs. There's also an outdoor aqua park available for guests' use for an extra charge, and a leisure complex with a showbar, bar and restaurant, arcade, café and supermarket. Entertainment and fishing is included in the pitch price. After the fish/golf balls have been tamed and the kids have gone wild in the playground (they'll find a zipwire, swings, slide and quite a bit more there too) guests of all sizes can meet up in the Badgers Barn Pub for a bite and a tipple (possibly not the latter for smaller guests). And then, a stroll to walk it all off? Ambling options are all around: Grange Leisure Park is on 170 acres of farmland and fields, with clear open views, miles of trails and wildlife in abundance. If you're wandering into Mablethorpe, the beach is about a mile away, but if you're feeling full/ lazy, the local bus stops right outside the site. A new amenities block was added in 2018.

Liked: The ease of the electric and water hook up

Disliked: Toilets overflowing every day with human waste
Walk into Mablethorpe along a busy road as the public footpath across the fields was uneven and dangerous to walk on.
Drunk people shouting and arguing at night . No food take away after 4pm

Electric grass tent or touring caravan pitch

Liked: The food in the bar was nice and reasonably priced.
Great location, only 40 minute walk into Mablethorpe.

Disliked: The toilet block was dirty and smelly, the showers kept going warm and cold.
The bins were full when I arrived on the Friday and overflowing when I left on the Monday.
The site isn't very secure. I was next to the main road and anyone could wonder through the hedge to gain access to the site.
There were reports of thefts of expensive camping gear during the night.
The site doesn't have 24 hour security and no barrier either.

Liked: Leaving

Disliked: First off we booked 3 months in advance and the week before our booking we got a email stating our pitch was now unavailable and they have a spot in the back of a car park for us. A busy car park, we have 2 young children which they knew of due to booking information. We managed to get a basic pitch in the end, people had things stolen and staff couldn’t care less.
Half of the things in the arcade just took your money without actually working and staff members said it’s not their problem it’s an outside company.
Don’t know what smelled worse the toilets or the staff’s attitude.
Lovely location from the beach so you can go get some fresh air… you’ll need it.

Camping pod

Liked: Not too far of a drive to the beach

Disliked: 2 night glamping, door didn’t fit the frame was a big gap above the door. We told reception once we seen this and they said someone will be around to fix but never came,we told them again no one showen up when returning the keys they just said ok the work as been sent over but that didn’t help our stay as it was letting all the cold air in and the heater was very slow. We just made do with putting a blanket over the gab the best we could luckily we was only there for 2 nights. I found it boring as nothing onsite to do just 1 amusement so we did drive down the the beach as wasn’t too far and had a lot more shops and amusements.

Liked: Bar food was good and quick.
Location great for mablethorpe.

Disliked: Toilets and showers disgusting, we have never stayed somewhere as bad. It looked like they were never cleaned, no handwash, shower stalls dirty and full of hair. I cant even describe the toilets themselves lets just say animals would have kept them cleaner. Vile!

Theft is rife something we have never had before when camping/ caravanning. Staff told us to 'secure valubles' since when have anyone had to do this and what about tents!!

Staff very rude and short.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Our family of five had a wonderful time at Grange leisure park.
Situated a short drive from the beach, it met all requirements.
The site was always clean and the facilities were kept in good order with lovely hot water.
The lakes were a lovely feature.
My children enjoyed the park although the zip line was not in working order.
We also enjoyed the amusement area.

Thank you Grange leisure park, I'm sure we'll return

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Big spaces for tent/privacy. Lots of space for kids to play. Site has a park but this is at other end of the site not near camping pitches.

Disliked: Toilets ( the ones at the bottom what are for campers) these were the closest to us and they was not very nice. The shower was just drippy and so cold (no heat at all ) that we had to use other amenities off site! Everyone was saying the same that it’s unbearable to use. Pot wash area was far up into the site too not near by the camping pitches which I found odd.

Local attractions

Mablethorpe, Sutton-on-Sea, Ingoldmells, Skegness and other Lincolnshire lovelies are all close by for the coastal connoisseurs; and market towns, villages and the Lincolnshire Wolds easy to get to inland. At Mablethorpe, many visitors wander through the dunes to Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary, home of many a brightly-coloured bird, birds of prey, primates, reptiles and roguish-looking meerkats as well as the seals. Kids and big kids will probably also like Mablethorpe's miniature railway, boating lake and funfair; fans of the latter should add in Ingoldmells, home of Fantasy Island theme park. This is also a cracking area for nature: more seals can be seen at the popular Donna Nook National Nature Reserve down the coast between Grainthorpe Haven and Saltfleet, and a huge nature reserve teeming with squawking seabirds is at Gibraltar Point near Skegness. Also nearby, bob about in boats or cast off again at the waters of the Lincolnshire Wolds, alongside many miles of trails and bridleways to walk, cycle or horse ride, or bob around Lincolnshire's market towns: recommended options include Alford, Louth and Lincoln.
