  • Scenic park on the river Witham, 10 minutes' drive from Tattershall
  • A 35-minute drive from Lincoln and 15 from Tattershall Farm Park
  • Playground, river fishing, waterside walks and pub-restaurant on site
What a lovely Lincolnshire location this is – dog-friendly Riverview Caravan Park’s location on the banks of the Witham river is a mighty scenic place to spend a bit of time… You’re on holiday, so you’d be quite justified in deciding to settle down right there by the river for lengthy periods in the company of a book and/or picnic. Keep that view in sight by heading out for a waterside walk or launching your own paddleboard or kayak from the boat jetty too. Keen to go fishing? The site has one mile of fishing along the river Witham, all set just 20 metres from the pitches. The on-site fishing is known for tench, carp and big bream weighing up to seven kilograms, as well as its fortnightly competitions. A modern gym is on-hand for those times when you feel like fitting in a good workout. For families, there’s a playground as well as an indoor pool (open during high season only) where they can play about whatever the weather. If they (or you) are plane fans, they may like to know that RAF Conningsby is a short distance away with a World War II museum. Fighter jets and the occasional Lancaster fly overhead, so it can get a bit noisy (especially during the week) but settle down for your own personal air show and enjoy the sights. When it comes to food, the on-site pub and restaurant is likely to be your go-to. Serving up homecooked food, it has a beer garden overlooking the river along with local entertainment such as singers, bingo and karaoke. On Saturdays and Sundays, it serves a full English breakfast, and on Sundays, there is a Sunday roast up for grabs. It also has a kids' menu. For out-and-about times, local town Tattershall is less than 10 minutes away by car and Lincoln city centre around 35 minutes.

What customers say

This is a friendly, well-maintained site with a lovely riverside location, popular with plane spotters due to its proximity to RAF Coningsby. Guests praise the clean facilities, particularly the shower and toilet blocks, and the helpful, welcoming staff. The camping pods are generally well-equipped and good value. While some minor maintenance issues have been noted, many visitors found the site to be a peaceful and relaxing escape and plan to return.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Location beautiful right by the river with launching for paddle boarding
Lovely pub 5 minutes walk away
Small quieter site but has gym pool and bar (we didn’t use them so can’t comment)
New hard standing pitches with tarmac road well lit
Shower is push button but water was nice and hot
Close proximity to RAF base with low flying jets right above which is why we chose here
Park manager drove round to introduce himself and say hello on our first evening

Disliked No reception/office looks like it’s work in progress
Drinking water tap needs attention it’s hanging off not signed and hidden behind a plot
Washup area is a wonky sink at the side of the toilet/shower block saw review about this from June and also saw site reply saying a 6 foot surround was been put up around it that week but that’s still not happened
Waste area not great its a portaloo attached over waste pipe (that’s not the problem not a lot u can do to fancy that up it does the job ) but it’s round the back of the toilet/shower block with no signage (only found it as went searching ) but there’s dirt and debris surrounding it like it’s a dumping ground
Some Taps in toilet shower block are the wrong way around, hot (red) tap is cold and cold (blue) tap is hot
Broken shower screen , broken door handles ,and locks (unfortunately some people have no respect for anything) not the sites fault but as they obviously get cleaned because never had a problem with the cleanliness then maintenance should also be done

From the manager: Thank you for your review
Your totally correct about a few things and as we so bussy our clearness and manitnance team are flat out

The waste area is working progress with a brand new flushing disposable unit cost over 1000 pounds
It's not. Porta loo as you discribed lol

Soon it will be enclosed and new paving

We just had new plumbing done to the shower block so I will bring the wrong taps to team

We are such a small family run site
We do not have a reception

But you will of been treated by my self or one of my team shown to your pitch or camping pod

There are 5 drinking water points and yes they should have better signage

But I see on the individual making you have marked most 10 out of 10 with one 7

We so happy for this

But the overall rating you give us a 6
Witch is the 3rd lowest review we had this year .
Is this correct

Review marking affects our standing with in pitch up and my teams bonuses

I understand when we have not got it right and we will asked

So happy you had loverly time and see you a again very soon

Camping pod

Liked I loved how friendly the man was who gave us our key he also took us directly to the pod (I’m sorry I didn't get his name!!) he was so warm and inviting! He told us about the clubhouse and the entertainment, we did pop in but it looked like we went too late and missed bingo! The pod was so clean and cosy - the fridge was also really clean! The toilets and shower block was also really clean and well kept. I could not fault this site or the staff at all!! We also did a few lengths in the pool! I will definitely be coming back here! Thank you for a great stay!

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Nice friendly site toilets and showers were fine. Nice to have a bar on site to get a drink after a long day. Nice surroundings which we wasn’t able to take advantage of as only there for one night. Would like to revisit at some stage and visit the surrounding areas.

Camping pod

Liked Beautiful and peaceful site.

Pods are spacious and well equipped with comfortable beds. The team is friendly and welcoming and it is clear the owner and his team are striving to constantly improve the site.

We were greeted upon arrival and shown, rather than directed, to our pod. Our request to be near the facilities was happily obliged and everything was checked to be working in the pod before the gentleman left us to enjoy it.

We were told that they were having issues with the hot water but were working hard to resolve it and the owner came and personally apologised. Fantastic customer service.

As seasoned campers we brought our own toilet roll, just in case, but never needed it as the facilities were always clean and well stocked.

This site is perfect for a relaxing break although you will need a car to get out and about but its a perfect base camp.

Loved the decking area, would have benefitted from a little table for my evening glass of wine 😉 but when we come again I will just pop a camping one in the car.

We bought a little fan and I am glad we did as the pods are excellent at retaining heat! In fact the duvet went back in the car.

Wasps were in full force so we made a wasp trap that worked perfectly and meant we weren't overly bothered about them.

Loved meeting Boscoe and having a fuss and its clear the owner is hands on with the site.

Well done to the team!

Disliked Nothing! Noticed some reviews have little niggles but most of them could be solved by the people staying with a little forethought and common sense!

Camping pod

Liked The staff are friendly and they are really helpful. The site is nice and clean just nice for a couple of days get away. We go to woodhall for the swimming and the lovely kinema. Your 3rd time now we will go again.

Disliked There wasn’t any cups in our pod but it’s not a problem we had brought our own.

Camping pod

Liked Only stayed the 1 night as we were off to an airshow.
The pods are clean, with plenty of room, the bed was comfortable and we both slept well.
The toilet/ shower block are near by.
Would be nice to have an extra surface to prepare food.
There are options to get food and drink on the site as well.

Disliked * Would have liked a site map, to locate the water points or signs, to say where they are.
* one of the female shower cubicle were hanging off.
* Not enough toilet paper.
* When the cleaner arrived in the morning she was horrified with state of one of the cubicles, as it was unusable, due to a person leaving it in dirty state.

Camping pod

Liked Love this site, Phil and the gang work hard to please everyone
I've just had a hip replacement and they couldn't do enough for me.
We also got to see the air show from the local RAF site whilst we were there.
We will be returning once a month hopefully!

Disliked Got stuck in the disabled loo but mentioned it to the staff and they fixed it immediately.
Toilets are a bit cobwebby especially the disabled, just a bit of attention to detail would sort this out.

Local attractions

Having viewed your own bit of the river, it’s likely that you’ll be enticed into getting out for a walk – especially when you learn that there are a couple of riverside pubs nearby. There’s more strolling to be done in Tattershall Lakes Country Park (five minutes’ drive), plus the chance to get a bit of watery activity at Just Wake wakeboarding centre. Take off to Tattershall (around 10 minutes’ drive) for a wander around Tattershall Castle – a proper textbook castle with a moat and 15th-century tower to potter around. Just outside town is Tattershall Farm Park (15 minutes), where egg collecting, sheep shearing and hanging out with hairy Highland cows are likely to meet with approval from tiddlers (and quite probably their elders too…). A day out in Lincoln (35 minutes) must surely be on the list – it’s got a real slice of history, being home to one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta. You’ll likely feel like you’ve stepped back in time if you catch a film at Kinema in the Woods (15 minutes) too: the flicks have been running since 1922 here, and there’s still a resident organist to provide the tunes.
