Bell tent
Liked: Location. Views. Tent. Equipment.
Disliked: An amazingly beautiful place. So much potential. Great tent and equipment. Really, really lovely. Just zero attention from the management. No one to greet us. No idea where to go. Entry code? Which tent? Where the facilities where. We arrived and pretty much fended for ourselves. Human contact consisted of the manager of the local bistro who ‘managed’ to log in to the booking system and find our tent number. The same for the rest of the week. No one answered the phone, nor the voice and text messages I left. Our stay would have been completely and utterly transformed with a minimum of human contact. Such a shame.

Bell tent
Liked: The facilities within the site as a whole are fantastic, everything you could possibly want/need and more which allows you to pack lighter when you do go. The layout of the site is fantastic, enough privacy between tipi’s (which contain noise to themselves very well). Everything was immaculately presented and clean, clear written signs throughout the site that answer any questions you may have. Bathroom block is immaculate. 7 seperate full bathrooms including an accessible one all containing a shower (good pressure, water takes no time at all to get hot) toilet, sink, mirror and hair dryers attached to the wall (work very well) so no queuing or waiting for one to become free. As much free firewood as you could possibly need, fire lighters and matches provided for you. Very comfy double bed!
Disliked: When you first arrive and park, it is a little confusing where to head first as there are tipi tents in both the top field and the bottom field, it’s not until you walk up to each individual tent that you can see what they’re numbered as. Perhaps a poster with a map in the carpark to save having to walk around and possibly disturb other people. Make sure you bring an eye mask to sleep in, as the tents don’t hold any sunlight out once the sun rises in the morning, and ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper like me because the cockerels and pigs make noise early.
