  • Peaceful site on the banks of the River Arrow, with access for fishing
  • Four great golf courses within a 20-minute drive
  • In the black and white village of Eardisland; pubs a short walk away
As the name suggests, the River Arrow meanders through Arrow Bank Country Holiday Park, a peaceful site surrounded by gorgeous Herefordshire countryside. It’s a fine place to settle in for a bit of fishing or to gaze out over the water and see what sort of wildlife you can spy – kingfishers, woodpeckers and owls are regular visitors, and otters can often be seen scampering about in the shallows too. As well as having all sorts of animals about, the site is on the edge of Eardisland for wanders through this black-and-white village, perhaps towards the pubs, tearoom or convenience store (10 minutes’ walk). More of the above – plus a train station if you’re touring by public transport – are a 10-minute drive away in Leominster as well. This location is likely to find great favour among golfing types as several of the best courses in the Midlands are close by: the folk here recommend rounds at Raven's Causeway, Burghill Valley and the two courses in Leominster, all of which are within a 20-minute drive. If golf’s not your thing, you’ll not struggle to find things to do: National Trust properties, market towns, country villages and hillwalking are all nearby, along with plenty of places to sample the fine local produce (proper cider, anyone?). Carp fishing is also available in the well-stocked pool at Arrow Bank Country Holiday Park for a daily fee (just stop by reception to buy a pass). Owners Glenn and Hannah take excellent care of their facilities, so all guests should find them well looked after: the heated toilet and shower amenities, washing-up area and laundry area are all cleaned daily. Arrow Bank is a quiet touring site that's mainly geared towards adults; as such it has no facilities for kids, although there is a playground in the village. There are also electric car charging points on site.

Fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Very well kept campsite. It's very picturesque with the lake and walks. A secure well fenced dog area where the mutts went wild. The amenities block was spotless. The Yew hedges are really astonishing! The village is a ten minute walk away and is truly beautiful with the river, the black and white houses, planted verges and a real vimminity feel about it. There are three pubs, although when we visited, being early in the season, they are only open Wedndesday to Sunday. The roads were very quiet, so walking around is a pleasant experience. This site is well worth a visit for the site alone. But even better is the location is a great base to explore all the surrounding towns and villages.
Lastly but definitely not least are the staff. Super friendly and helpful. Not at all like some sites I could mention...
We will be back in the future for a longer stay.

Disliked: Absolutely nothing!@

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: Warm and friendly staff. Immaculately kept site. Nice large level pitches. Lovely walks in the vicinity.

Disliked: Showers could have been warmer - ran tepid even when run for a long period of time.

Pitch held water within the gravel after a downpour.

Fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: A very well looked after site, the grounds, the pitches, the access roads and the facilities were faultless. Reception was a very welcoming area and the young man behind the desk couldn’t have been more pleasant. Considering we arrived during Storm Bert we had a good time and will return if we are in the area.

Disliked: We couldn’t get the Wi-Fi to work, but the tv did which was a bonus.

Local attractions

Taking gentle strolls is a top way to spend your time while staying at this prime park. Wander to Eardisland Castle (10 minutes’ walk) to mosey around a motte circled by a moat or amble by the river to the attractive village of Pembridge (an hour). Other top settlements in the area include the market town of Leominster (10 minutes’ drive) – dawdle around the half-timbered buildings and museums here or get in a round of golf at one of the two local courses. Rather roam without a club in hand? Navigate your way towards some of the handsome mansions in this part of the country, including the National Trust’s Croft Castle and Parkland (15 minutes), Berrington Hall (20 minutes) and Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum (20 minutes). More days out and about are to be had at the Small Breeds Farm Park and Owl Centre (20 minutes), a fab place to head towards if you haven’t managed to spot any creatures down by the riverbanks at the site.
