  • Scenic farm site with views over eight counties
  • Five minutes’ drive from Bromyard and set above Brockhampton Estate
  • Surrounded by walking and cycling trails in spectacular countryside
My my, now this is something extra special… Flock to the 540 acres of Warren Farm, a scenic site set at the top of the National Trust’s Brockhampton Estate, for hols in a Herefordshire hideout with jaw-dropping views. From the highest point on a clear day, you can see up to eight counties, but before you settle down to spend time peering at the scenery, enter the archway into the farmhouse courtyard and pitch your tent on a peaceful field that’s part of an old drover’s route. The sheep graze here in winter, so the grass in the meadow is kept low enough for you to stay comfortably under the beech trees during the warmer seasons. As night falls in this placid place – after supper and a sip of ale at the local pub – stare at the sky and admire the stars. If you’re an early riser, it’s worth waking up in time to catch the sunrise across the spectacular landscape too. During the day, it’s all about exploring the many tracks at the adjacent Bromyard Downs, Bringsty Common and, of course, the moated Brockhampton Estate. Into mountain biking? The surrounding paths are a little extreme but fab for folk fit enough to tackle them. If you’re a dab hand at riding, try the hilly 26-mile route from Knightwick (five miles) to Storridge along lesser-used lanes through the Suckley Hills. It includes three prolonged climbs, so it’s a bit of a workout (but the six pubs enroute might just make all that exercise worthwhile…). A secure building is on hand at the farm to store your bike overnight.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Highly recommend: So good I stayed an extra night!

Lovely beautiful small campsite on a working farm (cute Hebridean lambs in April) with facilities which not only are kept clean and functional but also look nice with a log-plank type style. Loads of space per pitch. Some have amazing views across a valley, or you can be in a quiet paddock.

Owners are kind and around to organise the site/answer questions, but let you get on with your hol as a respectful guest.

As well as 2 toilets, 2 showers there is a ~4x3m covered washing up area with a bench which would be great for a group area to spend time in, in inclement weather, and served me great for a bit of quick cooking out of the breeze.

If I'm down this way again I will defo see if I can stay here.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Lovely peaceful farm site with spacious campervan pitches and the option to have a firepit. Hearing the the skylarks in the morning was a treat.

James was welcoming and helpful. Good facilities and great hot shower.

We had a lovely walk onto the NT Brockhampton estate and enjoyed the abundance of spring lambs!

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked: This site was super peaceful. Pitches are thoughtfully planned and spacious. Footpaths head off in all directions straight from the farm which meant I didn't have to pack the van up and drive away at all throughout the weekend.

The facilities were super - clean, well stocked and with hot water.

I returned home feeling happy and relaxed - I can't wait to return!

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: A beautiful location with a pitch surrounded by wild flower meadow. Each of the 12 circular pitches has privacy in June as flowers are so tall. Views of stunning countryside and walks from the site. Nearby National Trust property well worth a visit.

Disliked: Facilities are quite basic but clean and well maintained.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Quiet campsite with fabulous views on this picturesque working farm. There are walking trails right from the pitch. There are 2 unisex showers with plenty of hot water. There are 2 toilets. There is a sheltered area to do your washing up. Perfect place to escape for a weekend of relaxation.

Disliked: A minor issue that can be sorted is that the one toilet and shower had poor lighting.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Cute little site with amazing views of Worcestershire and The Malvern. Fairly basic set-up, but with everything you needed (loos, shower, bins, washing up area). Good quiet place for a rest with walks around and into the NT estate next door. Lovely owners who left you alone but were super helpful if you needed anything. A very good price point too.

Disliked: It is a single and rather bumpy track to the campsite, with only a couple of passing places. It was never a problem but I was a bit nervous of meeting another camper when coming and going.

Local attractions

Craving a tasty tipple? Take a trip to the Little Pomona tasting room and cidery (10 minutes’ drive), head to The Hop Shed Brewery & Tap Room (15 minutes), or check out the spirits at the Chase Distillery (20 minutes). Astley Vineyards (half an hour), set in a secluded wildlife haven, is also worth a venture for its award-winning white wines. For other unusual days out, crack on towards a craft centre with more than 20 independent shops, a garden and antique complex, or a vintage furniture emporium, all less than five miles from the site. Switch things up with strolls around stately structures too: think the spectacular ruins, fab fountains and wild woodland at Witley Court and Gardens (25 minutes), as well as the neoclassical architecture of Berrington Hall (half an hour), set in a park created by the renowned landscaper Capability Brown.
