Poynton Cross Campsite












- Wild camping on a Peak District farm, 25 minutes’ drive from Buxton
- Castleton hikes 15 minutes’ drive; Chatsworth House 25 minutes
- Dogs welcome; resident farmyard animals; a 10-minute walk from a pub
Site type
This site has no on-site shower facilities.
- Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.
- The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).
- No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.
- Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.
- Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.
- No gas barbecues allowed.
- No charcoal barbecues allowed.
- No electric barbecues allowed.
- There are no bins onsite: all rubbish will need to be taken home with you.
- Please note that the toilet facilities are unisex.
- There is no reception on-site: on arrival please contact the number provided on your booking confirmation.

Liked: Great location in the heart of the Peak District, with great views. Toilet facilities were fine and clean. Free reign on where to pitch our tent (as it was quiet). Host was very pleasant and welcoming.

Liked: What a lovely site. Lots of room and well maintained and flat. So close to many attractions in the Peak District.
We went to Castleton and walked up MamTor. In the evening we walked up to The Barrel for dinner which was stunning

Fantastic campsite. Quiet with fantastic views.
The field is well maintained and perfect for camping with no caravans which is a bonus.
So close to lots of attractions.
Very friendly farmer who runs the site. Thank you .
