Liked: Rural atmosphere in the meadow, well equipped and cozy yurt that was nicely furnished and great to have a private bathroom and cooking facilities including fridge. Lovely and warm with the burner lit. The decking area was also a plus. Friendly welcome from owners and various animals.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike. Shame we didn’t have time to try out the local pub! Wi-Fi was available but a bit patchy.

Liked: We stayed for 2 days in the Kestral Yurt and I can’t fault it. Had everything you would need (cooking equipment, cutlery, plates, bedding, extra blankets). We were there during the recent storm and the yurt was amazing, especially with the log burner! The owners came on both days to make sure everything was ok, which was lovely. Added bonus to have your own shower/toilet cubicle.

Buzzard bell tent
Liked: We really enjoyed our stay at smith hall meadow. The yurt, bathroom and cooking tent were excellent and really clean and well presented. Everything we needed was provided - making travelling much easier. The location itself was great and very central to all the areas we wanted to visit. The owners were also really helpful when I emailed them with a query, replying quickly and even emailed us to give us a heads up about the meadow itself being a little muddy. There was also a really very informative little arrival pack - outlining all local and nearby attractions and amenities.
There was a lovely pub serving food a very short walk (The Black Horse) and another pub a short drive where the food was exceptionally good and good value for money (The Tiger Inn) .
We did do a little cooking in the tent that was provided - which is next to the yurt and everything was provided that we needed, such as utensils and pans and kettle. We didn’t sit in the tent as the weather was good .. but there is a picnic table in there should you need to.
Both my teen children enjoyed the fact there was Wi-Fi and they could charge their phones! I enjoyed the double bed which was very comfortable and the lovely warm bedding!
Disliked: Was a little unsure on what to do on arrival - perhaps instructions could be emailed prior to arriving? However the owner answered the phone straight away and helped direct me what to do.
We noted that there was two yurts and only one cooking tent, fire pit & BBQ between them .. there was no one in there whilst we stopped so it wasn’t a problem but not sure how that would work if both yurts were occupied?

From the manager: Thanks for the lovely review. Just to et you know, we only allow both tents that are pitched together to be booked by one party, so you are never sharing a toilet or washroom and dinning shelter with someone you don't know. we do that so larger groups of family and friends can come away together. I do take on board you comments about arrival information and will be more consistent with it. thanks
The very best stay we had in a yurt so far

Buzzard bell tent
Liked: A fantastic place to stay in. We had an opportunity to stay in a kestrel yurt. It had a separate tent with a full kitchen equipment, including plates, cups, bottle openers cutlery, knives even a cutting board. There is also a separate exclusive unit to wash dishes and a bathroom with a shower, installed in a glamping like, wooden enclosure. There was also a bbq and a fire pit to use as well. We welcomed a generous amount of wood for the stove and a spotless cleanliness. The site is inhabited by various animals, and even a small pond! From the map it would seem that is close to the road, but in fact it was very quiet. Also what I think is a big plus, there were just a couple other pitches occupied. We felt like in a hotel, but on a field - definitely a superb place to stay.
Disliked: It would be crazy to complain about anything. On entrance could be better displayed, as we drove past without noticing.

Liked: A beautiful setting, lovely field and meadow. The tents were beautifully furnished and comfortable. Toilets and showers were clean and excellent. There were plenty of chairs for us all and cooking facilities. The showers were warm immediately as were the taps. The stoves were easy to use and did a great job of keeping the cold away during the night.
Disliked: The barbeques were a bit small. Could do with one or two brick barbeques. However, they were in working order and we were able to cook for 9 people using them, just not good for my back but I am getting old!
