Liked: My partner and I came with one of our close friends, we had a lovely time, the location is beautiful, the farmer is lovely and regularly checks in to make sure everything is okay, and is very helpful and knowledgeable in the area so any questions we had like if there were any shops etc.. He was very helpful with. Toilets are on the campsite and very accessible with two stalls in the female toilets with a mirror, sink and soap. Overall we had a lovely stay the whole area is beautiful to walk around and quiet during the night so you can get some rest. There is a pub and shop pretty much on the campsite/right next door too!

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Flat, freshly cut grass across entire site. Good options to choose pitch. Toilet block is modern, clean, dry and well kept. Scenic surroundings. Close to Castleton, Mam Tor, Kinder Scout and Jacobs Ladder trails. Other guests were quiet and respectful. No hassle with later arrival (7pm) - just turned up and pitched with no interaction with campsite management. We both slept very well with no interuptions.

Liked: My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at this campsite and can't recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Pat, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He took the time to tell us about the surrounding areas, gave us helpful tips, and even recommended a local pub just over the stile in his field, which was a fantastic find.
Pat went above and beyond when he noticed we had forgotten to bring our air bed pump—he kindly pumped them up for us! What a thoughtful and generous gesture. Throughout our stay, Pat offered assistance, always making sure we felt comfortable and well-cared for, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
The campsite itself was perfect. The ground was level, and Pat was always ready to help if we needed anything. The toilet facilities were top-notch—clean, spacious, and nothing like a typical portaloo. We had separate male and female toilets, which were a nice touch and made everything feel very well-maintained.
We will definitely be back and can wholeheartedly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a peaceful, friendly, and well-equipped place to stay. 100% five stars from us!

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked: The campsite was conveniently on our route from Merseyside to Lincolnshire and next to a great pub with a good atmosphere.
The pitches were all level and there was plenty of space for each pitch. The site had no traffic noise.
Disliked: The facilities at the campsite were very limited (only fresh water and a toilet with a cold tap?). £25 is a high price for these facilities.
The parking was on grass which was fine in good weather, but could be awkward in the wet.
We were woken late at night by a family returning from the pub over the stile and talking loudly, near where we were parked.

Liked: I love the fact it's such a basic campsite and a happy community. We booked our pitch and once we arrived we phoned the chap to let him know of our arrival and that was it. Holiday started right there and then!
